I actually liked the cut of his jib when he said he didn't particularly like football, didn't support a team and that he just concentrated on scoring goals.
However, I'm now inclined to think that was just attention seeking bollocks like nearly everything else he says.
This i see the interview when he said this and how he dont watch football its a job to him blah bah then would see him tweeting about live games going on.
Lyle seemed very definite that he had a life changing move lined up, so it is quite surprising that nothing has happened yet
As many people have said, i'm sure a deal in principle a few months ago, may well have changed because of Covid. Clubs everywhere are reducing budgets and not knowing when fans can return to games won't help either. Even giant clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid are saying they can't afford to spend much this summer.
If we assume he's going to a Championship club then unless you're a team who's just been relegated and have parachute payments then you're probably re-evaluating your summer transfers. Suddenly that 20k a week offer to a 30 year striker with a poor recent injury record might not seem such a great deal.
I'm sure he'll be ok though. It's not as if he won't get a deal somewhere.

He did say in the podcast interview (right before the restart) that no one had been talking to each other, he meant in the sense of Agents / Clubs
Wasnt sure if I believed him at the time and did make me hope that he'd play seeing there was no certainty over him getting a better move if he did leave
The season finished less than 2 weeks ago. Keep in mind there were a lot of clubs still battling to go up/stay up right up to the wire.
The season doesn’t start for another 5-6 weeks, and the window doesn’t close until October. He will get something.
Nobody is saying he won't. Just that it looked like he was getting this big move which has gone very quiet. I think fans are understandably hoping it all falls through for him. I'm sure we all know he will get a club, just hopefully not the one he wanted.

It's 5 weeks since he left us (30th June). He's not played since March so will need a proper pre season unlike the players who played the 9 games and thus will be far more ready to resume in September.

Doesn't sign for anyone... LOL That's what you get for being a disloyal TWIT.
As has been said before, Taylor could have left us with his head held high and at least partially with the best wishes of the fans if he had seen his contract through to the end.
He clearly doesn't give a shit what we think of him, having forever joined the ranks of Parker and Murphy et al.
My guess is that had he signed a contract way back, he would have been more happy about seeing the season to its conclusion, retaining his honour, reputation and great memories of his time here.
It only makes sense to burn his bridges if he had no contract in place. Ironically, this suggests to prospective employers that he must think his body is fragile and he has no scruples. I hope that bites him in the bum.

Seems that could well be the case now

I hope he ends up playing for a shit team on no more money than he would have got at Charlton
