  • 235 minutes played across 7 appearances in all competitions with no goals or assists.

Lyle Taylor has only become Charltonized since leaving Cafc; how bizarre when you consider it's normally only when players are at Charlton that happens and the curse can be lifted once they leave.
Simon Francis is the obvious case that springs to mind.

  • Looks like he tried to possibly touch in Ameobi's goal to me but the others ran off celebrating. He really is just a bit part of their attacking play which I find quite amusing.
  • Question.

    Would you have him back?
As much as I want to say yes, the answer is no - what he did was unforgivable.
  • Like the bloke in the crowd when he's making his 'run' up to the ball, 'oh come on mate'.
  • Has he said farewell to Forest already?
  • Thing is with Taylor now is he has got his 3 year deal on
20k a week, so why should he be bothered if he never
scores another goal, or indeed how many appearances he
may or may not make, he has arrived.
The only purpose he had with us was his ladder to his next
and final moneybox club, so there you are, we served a purpose
and now we are simply a rung on that ladder, leave him to wallow
    in his own self importance.

  • £20,000 x 52 weeks x 3 years = £3,120,000. Easy money eh?!
  • I think I may be in the wrong thread for this sort of comment, but does anyone else find the level of hatred towards Taylor a bit embarrassing?

I can’t go on to #cafc on Twitter without people still going on about Lyle Taylor. People following Forest’s games just to catch a glimpse of a mistake. People wishing injury on him is also a thing.

I know football fans are fickle but this is so bitter, just move on. I’m no Taylor fan but what’s done is done, he didn’t do it out of malice, he did it to secure his family’s financial future.

I get people loved him so they feel betrayed, but a lot of them are grown adults, harbouring this sort of resentment for a footballer (who on the whole was great for us) will not be good for mental health.
No. His selfish actions played a big part in our relegation. He deserves the criticism he gets
Not saying he doesn’t deserve stick. If he came back to The Valley I won’t be giving him a warm welcome.

I just find it a bit sad that grown men are reduced to such childish antics over a man who doesn’t know they exist.

He’s a very rich man living the dream. Holding in all that resentment isn’t good for you.
  • He'll probably start banging them in when he gets a solid run of games.

He can't keep Grabban out the team at the moment but I'd expect that to change since Grabban has done nothing so far this season. Hughton probably wanted to keep faith but can only wait so long I'd guess.

I found it strangest on the last page when asked if they'd have him back and a bunch of people said Yes! Been calling him every name under the sun for the last 100 pages, but you'd have him back? Strange.

I wasn't as angry as others when he left us in the lurch but I wouldn't have him back, and I'm fairly sure Bows would tell him where to shove it if it ever came up too.
That’s football fans for you mate.

Yeah, I’m sure Bowyer would rightly tell him to do one. I just want us to move forward without having to hold all this baggage from the past.
  • I'm still confident that Hughton will turn it around for Forest and come the end of the season they'll be floating around the top 6. As much as it pains me to say it, I can also see Taylor playing a big part in that.

    Paragraph 3 nails it.

Hard not to agree with this. What he did to us was unforgivable and of course it hurt but as a grown up of 47 I can’t find it in me to allow myself to be eaten up by his actions. He’s only a football player ffs, there is so much more in this world to be offended by.

  • "Paragraph 3 nails it."

Does it? Does he have a family? Looked like he lived alone with pictures of himself in most of his videos from the Ebbsfleet house.
  • Starts in a top 2 with Grabban tonight in the East Midlands derby. Chance for him to become an instant fans favourite.
  • Question.

    Would you have him back?

I’d rather have my first fiancée back and she cost me thirty grand and gave me crabs.
Did she work on a fish stall?

No but she smelt like she did.

Crazy from the last manager not to play both Grabban and Taylor as a 2 up top.
