Further more the people behind BLM are not even black! It's the same as back in the day when the Nativity play was cancelled because it might offend the Muslims or seeks... The so called minority then say I have no issue with celebrating british customs at school!
Sikhs.....and I’ve yet to meet any Sikh that is offended by any British custom or culture, quite the opposite, don’t believe the media hype
Bad spell check! Sorry if I offended any sikh people. Your point is exactly my point.
It really isn’t, the media hype any sniff of a story to suit an agenda, left & right.
No nativities have been banned because any Muslim or Sikh found it offensive, I find chucking gay people off of high buildings and forced marriage of children offensive, but it’s not going to stop certain crackpots doing it anytime soon
Yes you are right but they have been banned in the past especially at Stillness primary school - Brockley as far  back as 1986! And of course nobody from the Muslim or any other community has asked for this!
  • It's funny how people were happy to continue with the thread when things were not appearing to go so well but now that Lyle has scored a few goals and the Forest fans are warming to him, the thread should be closed.
Been saying it for a while mate. Its a bit sad this thread

  • I have never got the whole diluted message thing, seems a bit of a cop out. Whenever a game is on Sky and players kneel the message couldn't be much more simple when they kneel, "in the fight against racism". It's pretty simple.

But yeah if he doesn't want to kneel, no one is making him

"You see what is happening - I'm not going into my beliefs into what went on in the Capitol building (referencing the attack on America's congress) this week because I've done my fair amount of research into it."

Absolutely no idea what he's on about with that bit though

Fun fact! If all your ideas and knowledge come from consuming the main stream media, you really do not know what is happing in the world. Do some research; consume content from alternative sources do not be fed a lie that comes from the same source #bbc #cnn #sky #inform your self!
No-one mentioned the BBC, CNN or Sky before you did. If you truly believe that these mainstream news sources have a bias to them, sure go ahead and believe it but the point I'm making is don't turn around and tell me that PatriotNews911 on YouTube who says BLM is a communist conspiracy is a more reliable source.

If anyone wants to "do their own research" then they should do it properly - read some peer reviewed papers from experts etc. Unfortunately most people who use the "I do my own research" phrase nowadays have just watched a few videos on YouTube, liked a post on Facebook and believe they're an expert.
Who are the experts? Who are their sources? Where is their 'expert' info published? Who is funding this?

Or, a better question: cui bono?

Who, in your view, benefits from the 'mainstream media' collaborating on misinformation?

Why open it, read the comments and post on it then?

There are loads of threads I find uninteresting on here but I simply ignore them.
Because a mate text me a pic or tweet from lyle talking about not taking the knee etc saw lots of fresh posts and thought there might actually be interesting discussion.
If everyone is moaning about him scoring or revelling that he's not scoring i personally find that a bit sad. Time to move on
  • Fun fact! Richard Rufus went to Stillness, played football with him during lunch break and he taught me how to break dance too! He was also a face at the Brockley BMX/Skate park!

OK.  I didn't know that.  Can you do me a favour and point out where that's reported?  I would love to look into that in greater detail.  Because they would have a lot of questions to answer.  No doubt they've been asked already, so I would like to see their answers.

It's interesting, because the current curriculum at Stillness Primary School includes:

    • The Bible
    • Local Christian places of worship
    • Christian celebrations
    • Leading a Christian Life
    • 'Jesus Human and Divine'
    • The journey of Life and Death Christianity
    • Christians respond to personal and social issues, locally and globally, in a number of ways and can draw inspiration from other Christians, e.g. Martin Luther King.
    • Sermon on the Mount
    • How Christmas is celebrated by Christians in other countries focussing on the central shared celebration of the birth of Jesus
    • A source of Christian belief and teaching - some Christians read the Bible every day and find it helpful for their everyday lives.
    • The Old and New Testaments include many books with different genres; these include history, law and songs: Joseph, Psalm 23, and Isaiah’s Prophecy.
    • The gospel stories tell about events in Jesus’ life.
    • Jesus’ teaching about the Kingdom of God in parables: The Lost Sheep
    • Ten Commandments
    • Special places for Christians
    • Belonging to a group and sharing activities with others is important and meaningful
    • Worship includes the use of stillness and silence for reflection
    • Reasons why people pray
    • The Lord’s Prayer
    • The Bible (a source of Christian belief and teaching) used in services
    • Jesus Human and Divine
    • God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
    • Christmas – Jesus’ birth
    • Choosing 12 disciples AND friends
    • Jesus’ temptations
    • Jesus’ baptism
    • Miracles and acts of healing e.g. ‘Stilling the storm’, ‘The four friends’ or ‘Healing a leper’
    • Easter - Jesus’ death, resurrection and afterwards
    • Leading a Christian Life
    • Commitment, belonging and belief in the special presence of God during significant life events Example of at least one person and one charitable organisation that exemplifies Christianity in action
    • Encounter with one local Christian to share how their life is led by faith
    • Christian communities in Lewisham
    • and a visit to a church or cathedral
    • And they held a fantastic Christmas jumper day last month
Are you really sure that they 'banned' the Nativity play because it 'offended' Muslims? If so, the Muslims must be fucking furious with what it's been replaced with.
Talking 30 years ago... So even before all the P.C. stuff but it definitely happened, take my word or not...

It wasn't reported, just firsthand knowledge. Common didn't we all grow up South London? Was happening overall maybe just a Lewisham thing?
  • Is that seriously a primary school (or any school) curriculum ?

If so - what a scandalous waste of learning.
    That's not all they learn...
