In a broken dream by the Australian band Python Lee Bowyer and Johnnie Jackson was written by David Bentley in the 60's. Not believing his own voice was right the key board player paid a session singer called Rod Stewart about £50 to do the vocals in 1970. Didn't do any good but when 18 months later Rod broke through with the faces it was re-released in 1972 and along with Maggie May was my all time favourite two songs from Rod Stewart.
