AM Took to Insta about hour ago to say how proud he is of Zemura scoring for Bournemouth today. Appreciate that's really sweet and all that, but come on, have some of these players not got a filter ffs
Really brave of him to do that after a defeat.

Doesnt mean that he should go home and sit at the wall to think about his performance

But more the fact that a lot of people will be upset and that'll just fuel their displeasure
Maybe it's just me (which wouldn't be unusual tbh), but shouldn't players take defeat really badly, or at least act like they do? I'd expect him to at least acknowledge how bad they were today before congratulating someone who is irrelevant to us at the moment.

Can understand why it would annoy people, we've work hard for the little many earn and like to spend it at the Valley

It almost feels like he doesnt give a shit about the game today (which is why I agree that its a dangerous move as there will be some who'll voice their displeasure on Social Media)... But then its surely better to move on from a bad performance as quickly as possible?

Just take that Alex Gilbey interview this week where he discusses that he let his performances get in his head each week, ultimately making things worse for himself, rather than finding distractions like his daughter now.

Yeah point taken re' mental health. Just think a little bit of tact wouldn't go a miss

Hope you dont think that the mental health comment was a dig mate

Was just one example that suddenly sprang to mind when replying - Agree that the difference is Gilbey chose to do something that didnt leave him in the public eye so didnt have to put up with any extra potential hate
  • We’re in our worst footballing period in 90 years
players like him aren’t out of place in this shit show
  • I’d love Albie to do well but I’m worried I don’t have enough years left in me….hurry up Gilbert & Arter

Clearly an autocorrect on Gilbert and Arthur

    Or it was obviously Gilbey.

  • I have always thought he had something about him and could kick on, but today he really showed some bad signs.  These clever balls he kept trying to play over the top, the long sprayed passes.  He needs to get the basics right in the first instance.
  • Not playing a simple ball to Souare on the left, while on the left as wanted to go blockbuster across to the right did not impress the coaching staff.

5 years older and 5 years wiser it seems.

I doubt Morgan does not care. It's a weird assumption that many make that footballers do not take defeats badly.

I won't assume why he chose to message his mate on social media instead of a private message or text, but it's probably an age thing.

At least he looked for the ball in the second half and didn’t hide.  I think he gets a harder ride than many on here.
I agree with you to an extent, but I do find myself getting frustrated with him when I’m at games, and it seems to be every game. I just don’t see the improvement in his game particularly since he broke into the first team. I really want him to do well but I never come out of game thinking Albie was class today, it’s usually average & this season poor. But no player has been great so far.

I agree that he’s been poor but so has almost everyone else .  Adkins has set us up to play no football and therefore it’s no wonder that a footballer won’t be playing well
  • Adkins has publically come out and said we did not play the football we were supposed to today and instead resorted to hoof balls.

The buck stops with him.  I’m so bored of him already

Who deserves a harder ride but doesn't get it?

  • Far too slow and can’t tackle, not the main criteria for a central midfielder.

I feel like we've been doing that for most of the season though

There is a reason for this.
  • The whole team has zero identity and imo Morgan has the least. Can’t tackle, doesn’t score, hardly creates.
He’s one of our own, so I’m not throwing him on the scrap heap, but he more than any of them needs to sit out. Watch from the stands and take a step back. See how he can play in this team, then hopefully come back stronger.

  • Cant be easy for any of our midfielder that get on the ball and then seeing a team full of statues hiding. The whole first half it was constantly going back to famewo from midfield because there was no movement.

Famewo then had a choice of playing it back to the keeper to hoof or just hoof it himself.
  • How many appearances has Morgan made for Charlton. Been in the first team for 4 years is it 100+ yet?
    78-games now in all competitions
Thanks. Most likely be 100+ end of the season. Out of contract in the summer. Unless we seem huge improvements in key areas, goal scoring, tackling, positioning etc. I would probably be inclined to let him leave on a free. Big season ahead for Morgan.

I’d defy anyone to look good in that team with those tactics

There was a big moment in the first half when we had a counter attack. Kirk was one on one with the full back and Morgan under hit a pass from 30 yards or so (No one else was in their half, except those two).Any player should be 100% over hitting the pass and giving the full back a torrid time by having him to chase the winger on the turn. Morgan under hit in and they stopped the attack. One of the most frustrating moments from yesterday’s IMO. Alongside, DJ’s miss.
  • I have no idea why, but he takes too long to decide where or who to pass to. That leaves him caught sometimes, but otherwise we lose impetus because the oppo’s defence have had time to write the book and then read the danger chapter again before it materialises. This is one of the biggest things that frustrate me around his game. Other than that please put Lee/Kirk on set pieces. One has come off in 6 games from recollection. Just not what we need right now.
