So let’s not pick any of them for the Southend game, maybe put them on the bench the week after and ease them back in the hope they don’t instantly break down again eh?
Not a game I'm looking forward to. Back in the mid 80s I first got interested in Charlton by reading my dad's copies of Voice of the Valley.
One of the first articles i remember was about the new relegation from the football league to the Vauxhall Conference and the possibilities of future league matches such as Cray Wanderers v Crystal Palace or Maidenhead v Millwall.
Now we are playing in division 3 to a team that back in the day was only famous for a milk advert.
Charlton Live mentioned that this was the first league meeting with Accrington but that we’d played them in the cup in the 1920’s. anyone know when that game was or what the score was?
Was a cracking 0-0 at their gaff before we roasted them 1-0 at home apparently (thanks to the CL match preview) and apparently family legend has it my old grandad got a shine when he got home...

Ah cheers - I even re-read the preview to see if the answer was there!
I’m concerned that this match feels similar to Dagenham and Stevenage away last time we were in L1 to me for some reason, let’s hope things go much, much better than those debacles.

Well, we won’t be playing Morrison at right back on Saturday so that’s an improvement already.
Really hoping for a win but they will be really up for this. 3 matches in a week will test this squad to the limit. 1-1 with another late equaliser conceded.

I reckon Steer will be in goal & LB to go 5-3-2.
Being positive for a change.......1-3 & the points in the bag before we even reach 90 mins.

Let’s hope we don’t let down the boys of 1924!
