So, how does Alexa or any app fill up the kettle with water? Or do you have to do that manually and then unlock your phone, load the app and press boil?SuedeAdidas said:My newest gadget is this kettle (coming tomorrow) - that you can get Alexa (or the app) to start the boiling process - or set up to boil on a schedule (for like when you get up in the morning):

Actually, I've come a bit late to the Bluetooth speaker thing. Everyone else goes for a Bose Soundlink it seems, but I managed to Buy British. Cambridge Audio YoYo. They claim "Great British Sound", which is a jab at the perceived coldness of the Bose sound. To emphasise that, it comes wrapped in a woollen cover made in a Yorkshire mill. You can also operate the controls by waving your hand over the buttons, rather than pressing them. Probably all a bit cosmetic, but for sure as good as the Bose, same price level, and no other ****** has got one, especially out here :-)0

Remote control for the tv. Anybody on here that says they’ve got a more useful gadget that they use more than that is lying...2

I haven’t fully researched it. But I don’t think the app fills the kettle.FORD said:

I’m guessing the idea is to fill it up each time you use it or otherwise before you go to bed if you want to boil it first thing in the morning.
I personally hate waiting by the kettle while it boils - hence the purchase.0 - Sponsored links:

I bought a Belkin Bluetooth speaker for my workshop and can't believe the quality of sound for 50 odd quidPragueAddick said:Actually, I've come a bit late to the Bluetooth speaker thing. My Quooker hot tap. No longer have a kettle. Nigh on boiling water instantly whenever you want it.
My little red Sony SRX bluetooth speaker. Great sound and very portable. Great value for 80 quid ( certainly even less now if you can still get one)
Parrot Bebop2 drone. Bit of fun with a great camera.2 -
Interested in geting one of these for our new kitchen. Do they do the opposite and chuck out chilled water an all @church-lanechurch-lane said:My Quooker hot tap. No longer have a kettle. Nigh on boiling water instantly whenever you want it.

The iPhone X obviously, but then the Sonos One’s are brilliant, the Nest Thermostat, Protect and Hello is an excellent eco system of kit, and the Apple 4K TV box was a good investment1

Ibborg - Don't think so but look up Quooker.co.uk and I'm sure you'll soon find out. You can get a separate filtered water tap but not sure how it would get chilled without an under sink unit. We get chilled filtered water via the fridge. Living in France isn't your water already chilled, as you surely draw a bucket from a well.
Suede - about 900 notes think.4 -

You could just make yourself a cup of coffee on your £320 coffee machine while you wait for the kettle to boil...SuedeAdidas said:

My vape, not had a cig in months.
Although I spend more money than when i smoked, I feel a million times healthier.3 -
Garmin Edge 800
Least intuitive bit of kit I have but it records every MTB ride I do - speed , climb , cadence, distance and a host of other things. It automatically connects the data with Strava. I can download full detail OS maps on to it and also download GPX routes to follow. Particularly good for wilderness rides.

Maybe some need to revisit the definition of gadget:
a small mechanical or electronic device or tool, especially an ingenious or novel one.
Knives are not gadgets. Neither is a TV the size of a car.6 -
