Not too bothered about Marshall missing out , but Aribo will be a huge loss . Just hope Ajose puts in a performance like at Pompey last season . Come on .
Dillon Phillips keeps his place in goal and again Lee Bowyer’s team selection leaves him flexible to change things. A 3-5-2 can quite easily become a 4-4-2 diamond with Krystian Bielik moving into midfield. Pearce and Patrick Bauer will play at centre half with Lewis Page on the left and Chris Solly on the right. Bielik may play as a third central defender or a defensive midfielder in the diamond. Darren Pratley and Cullen will start centrally with one of Nicky Ajose and Karlan Grant playing in attacking midfield and the other partnering Lyle Taylor up front.
Bowyer will also have the option to move to a 4-3-3 should he see fit.

Have found Joe a little too hesitant in his decision making (plenty of times to shoot yet always takes the safe option) the last few weeks, hopefully Cullen will be different alternative for us

Yep, it does look like Grant in the hole, probably given a free role to run at their defence. Plus Taylor to hold up play and Ajose to feed off the knockdowns and loose balls.
And the fullbacks to overlap, if Silly's knees hold up.
What formation are Sarfend starting with, anyone know? Might dictate how we line up to counter that.

It looks like a diamond to me ..... 4 at the back, Bielik sitting, Pratley and Cullen narrow in the middle and Karlan at the tip.
A big ask of both fullbacks to get up and down to supply the width - but that might mean there's space for others to make attacking runs wide on the counter. And if Karlan's got a free role, he'll pop up where there's space to drive into.
I might be wrong, of course. It won't be the first time.
Edit: Doh! Just seen Scoham's post. Looks like he beat me to it.

Greetings from Sunny Cornwall ....... a dry and pleasant day means I've got to get my lush grass cut.
I'll still be following the thread though.
C'mon you rip-roaring goalscoring* Addicks!
* Well, we can all live in hope, can't we?

It's the return of the world-famous, all-conquering 4-2-3-1.
It worked before ...
