Sorry mate should explain better. I'd be looking for autumn next year and not sure if I should book a couple of months before we go. The carribean cruise is for November this year and Dubai January 19. I was just putting them on here as an example of what good deals you can get two months before. Best cruise to date was NewYork for 4 nights and then back across the pond on the qm2 for 7 nights about £1000 each. Also looking at mon-friday dymchurch next week self catering in caravan £89
You can't beat Dymchurch with kids, especially as the weather looks good next week.
Sorry before I reply Dave. I can with the nearest kid being about 4 miles away
We're looking at Sorrento for next year. Done all inclusive in Spain/Turkey for the last 4 years, which has been great but looking to do a bit more while we're away now. Daughter really wants to see Pompei and we both love Italy.
Was supposed to be sorting a weekend in Germany to watch a game with @ricky_otto this year but haven't got round to it. Hopefully sort something next year.
I would recommend Naples too if you’re going. Sorrento is lovely (if not v touristy and expensive with the day trippers) but a great base for exploring the rest of the amalfi. We did Naples for a weekend went to Herculaneum and climbed Vesuvius the got a boat to sorrento where you can go to Pompeii. We then caught another boat to amalfi which was our base for the week where we walked trails into the valley down to atrani. Got a tour bus to ravello and a boat to positano. Went in May. Stunning place.
We did virtually the same thing many years' ago. Wonderful place. Stayed in Sorrento. No beach I'm afraid and like most of Italy, expensive!
Has anyone been to Tallinn, Looking at booking it for my brothers stag do for May?
Went there for Estonia away with England a few years back. Was sandwiched in between a night in Riga and Helsinki) so memory is sketchy and I was hanging that day, but from memory it was decent, very medieval old town, cheap, amazing women. Personally perfered Riga but you can’t go wrong in that region of Europe.
Booked on a two week Med Cruise from 18th May. Really looking forward to it already. Barcelona, Rome, Cartegna, Villefrance, Cadiz and The Rock. Going with friends, going to have a great time.
Have you checked when the play off final is?
We’re going up as Champions so play off dates not important.
( he says as he hastily checks the date, the port we’ll be in on that day, and flight times)
Just come back from Nice, very Nice, lots of bars and restaurants, I loved ‘Barracudas’ a restaurant just off the esplanade, great food and choice of music, wish I could pick it up and bring it home!
Nice gets 14 million visitors a year, nearly 3 times that of Tenerife (5 million) which I was quite surprised about.
It’s got almost its own micro climate, we had sunshine every day which you start to take for granted.
Nice gets on average 3 days rain in the month of September, rising to 6 days rain in October.
The promenade along the sea was 7km long, so great if you want to run, cycle, go for a nice walk, or just watch the world go by.
For the really keen they hold an ‘Ironman tristhlon’ Weekend in September, heard quite a few British accents, it was exhausting watching them compete! as I think it was a double triathlon.
Went to the memorial for the 84 who were killed in 2016, very sobering and simple, didn’t want to let terrorists win, and wanted to support the local community, who have been through hell.
Went to Monaco, and Monte Carlo, did the trip round the palace, and saw the changing of the guard, Monaco is a crazy place as you might expect, huge boats and flashy cars, a different world, one appartment was on the market for 300 million, with a bedroom of 16,000 sq feet.
Did a few guided tours, including one to a perfume factory with the missus, that I wasn’t sure about, but was actually quite interesting in the end.
Temperature was about 31 degrees, scorchio in the midday sun, airport closish by, Easyjet fly there.
I think it’s a good place to visit either before summer gets going over here, or afterwards when summer is finished, to kinda extend the summer.
Only thing that let it down for me was the fact the beach was stony rather than sandy, anyone been on any really good sandy beaches in the south of France?
@Mendonca In Asdas Cannes is a sand beach and on the same train line as Nice. We used Nice as a base and did train to their and in the other direction to Monte Carlo. That ride was excellent, all on the shoreline and in and out of rock tunnels.
Went to Nice on a stag do about 12 years. Good bars near a flower market if I recall with live music.
Went Monaco for a day and was in a cafe/bar up by casino square. Ordered a half of lager and was about 10 euros. Mate said not paying that much for a small beer and ordered a coffee - it was 12 euros !
Nice might have changed now but was probably the most graffitied place have been to.
Has anyone been to Tallinn, Looking at booking it for my brothers stag do for May?
Tallinn has lots to see. I was surprised as someone said that a day was plenty but after 3 days there was more to see. Good restaurants and friendly people. Have to agree with The Organiser’s comments and a trip to Riga is a must. There’s a noticeable difference between Estonia and Latvia. Check out the art nouveau buildings and enjoy the old town.

Thanks @Solidgone & @The Organiser , Yes we went to Riga on my own stag do and was superb! We have now booked 3 nights in Tallinn in May so looking forward to it now.
Let's be honest, the whole point of this thread is to find out where @MrLargo is taking his American treacle next year, and he hasn't fallen for it yet...

Mexico for 10 nights is the main one! Convinced my missus that TUI premium is the way to go on a 10 hour flight! Newquay in March again with the dog is a nice break, snowed last time so hope that doesnt happen again!
Anyone booking to fly abroad after 29th March needs their head examining.
I know. I booked my hotel and flights to Zante back in July for June 2019 and never gave Brexit a second thought. I'm now worried about what will happen if a no deal Brexit happens. The media claim there could be no fly zones across Europe! Not sure how much truth is in that though.

Panic not - On 19th December the EU published the below. It might be temporary and it might not be an exact replica of today, but it is a prelude to a future agreement...
"The Commission has today adopted two measures that will avoid full interruption of air traffic between the EU and the UK in the event of no deal. These measures will only ensure basic connectivity and in no means replicate the significant advantages of membership of the Single European Sky. This is subject to the UK conferring equivalent rights to EU air carriers, as well as the UK ensuring conditions of fair competition.
A proposal for a Regulation to ensure temporarily (for 12 months) the provision of certain air services between the UK and the EU. A proposal for a Regulation to extend temporarily (for 9 months) the validity of certain aviation safety licences.
The European Commission has said that even in a no-deal scenario, flights will still operate between the UK and EU, and a visa is not required." (my bold)

Duncan, rest assured that there will be no interruption, either now or in the future. Look forward to Zante, and go to the lovely beach with the shipwreck on it!

Burning Man has been mentioned for a lads trip, has anyone on here been?
Beaches in Turks and Caicos.
Best holiday ever

The Balearic's and Mediterranean resorts deserted as Brits cannot travel due to no fly zones.
Hmm can just see that happening.
More of a Brexit related concern for Spain is how it will affect Iberia, as the former national airline is now British owned.
