I don’t think I even realised we were playing until Flash Scores told me we were 1-0 but that’s some scoreline regardless of opposition and competition. Hopefully it helps build some confidence and it’s a shame we don’t have a game to go into on Saturday now.

Hats off to Bowyer for tinkering with the formation and using this competition as a tester for the real thing. Pratley is definitely an alternative consideration in that defensive role. No matter what the standard of opposition, it was a delight to see our players exude confidence as the goals flew in and not to let up. I've no doubt that Bowyer wants to see that ruthlessness from hereon in. Two 8 goal thrillers on consecutive Tuesdays? I'm going for another lie down.
“It was a great experience for me. Thank you to the gaffer for putting me in. Jason (Euell – u23s manager) and all that lot. It was a really good experience. It’s a great experience to be in that kind of game. Scoring that many goals and defensively we were all switched on. We played really well. Everyone played superb I thought.
