    STOKE CITY are saddened to learn of the death of Geoff Scott, who was a key member of Alan Durban's side that clinched promotion to the top flight in 1979.

    Geoff, a talented defender, passed away after a brave battle against cancer. He was 61.

    Elliott and Scott were all over the place in those highlights. We got a good sound thrashing that day!

    Sad news about Scott. I remember him getting a warm welcome when he came back to The Valley for a half-time draw in the 90's.

    Saw him in one of his 2 matches for us and he looked pretty good.

    Sad loss at only 62.

    I met him once, when he came into the bank I worked at. RIP.
