Think the first one was on a Sunday and the first “live” game as ITV and BBC started to show a few a season from that point and our very own Colin Walsh might have played (possibly a sub) but my senile brain might be making that up .
I think the first live televised league match was a few years later. I’m sure you’re right that it was spurs v forest, but I reckon about 1985 or so. Not sure though.
Edit: just looked it up - October 1983. Hoddle did play in this one too, but didn’t score. You were right that Walshie played for forest that day, but not as sub. In fact, he opened the scoring, making him the first player to score in a live televised English league match!
He won 53 caps for his country before managing the team from 1996-1999. Hoddle went on to manage Southampton, Tottenham and Wolverhampton before becoming a TV pundit. Didn’t he have a bigger job in football before becoming another pundit?
I have taken part in 9 CPRs in the last year, something I never expected to do as a part time fire-fighter. It is very different to how they portray it on tv, it is a sensory overload.

As Manager took Swindon to the Prem.
Had a pretty decent record at Chelsea and he signed Ruud Gullit, which lead to Vialli and Zola.
