RiP Pete - took my then 4yo son to see an outdoors Buzzcocks gig in Calgary - he fell asleep half way through - some achievement. Met Steve Diggle beforehand - shared a hot tub with him we were staying at the same hotel - had a good old chinwag with him, very nice guy.
Bought their first EP, Spiral Scratch in 1976 when Howard Devoto was the leads singer. He left to form Magazine. I was disappointed but co-founder Shelley (great name) compensated and wrote some superb clever pop songs. Saw them on numerous occasions including Thames Poly. Great band and along with the 101'ers will remain, for me, as the vanguard of UK punk music. Good Bless you Pete.
