Morgan carries the ball so well and can pick a pass, shame he has that donkey pratley next to him

Put Williams on next to him, Clarke at the top and Stevenson at left back to create some balance, replacing: Fosu / Dijksteel / Pratley

I can't remember when Pratley had a good game.
    2012 !

Just glad we go in only one down. All very well digging young Dijksteel out but he has been horribly exposed all half.

Can't honestly say the ref has been bad, other than missing the late tackle on Fosu.

Whether we can fix this depends on whether Bow feels he can take a chance on Clarke or Williams relatively early, I think.

Both of whom shouldn't have started. Solly RB, Stephenson LB. Williams in for Prately.

    Obvious really.

Feel massively sorry for Djiksteel. Formation is hanging him out to dry. He’s got two men piling forward on him every time.
He's being exposed but he is playing like a blind 5 year old paraplegic

Dijksteel needs game time in League 2, he simply isn't good enough at the minute, certainly not FB. Bowyer clearly doesn't want to give him a game at CM either, today was the opportunity to do so.

We’ve given up the midfield and we’ve got Sarr as our playmaker Ffs. All that does is draw Sunderland forward and because Sarr is unable to pass the ball without thinking about it for 30 seconds it goes only to Solly who invariably is stuck near the halfway line and he has nobody to pass it to. We’ve got two pacer strikers who score goals for fun and we are not passing the ball forward for them to chase. We need somebody in midfield. If we get one goal and draw level Sunderland will collapse.

If we didn't have so many of our better players out injured, I reckon we would be at least a match for them and probably a good bet for a win. As it is, we are second best by quite a big margin. LB's sticking rigidly to the diamond formation is becoming almost as much a liability as Gobbo's tactical inflexibility. Djiksteel, Pratley and Fosu are having mares.

Time to be brave Lee. Put on Stevenson and Williams for Djiksteel and Pratley, move Solly to RB, go 442 (or at least a diamond with Bielik at the base).

Much better from us towards the end of the half. Need to get Morgan in the ball more. Fosu is taking a half a second too long on the ball sometimes and needs to be looking to move the ball quicker. Apart from that awful header back Bielik is our best player so far.

Sounds like Sunderland should have made more of their first half advantage. Gives us a chance to come back in the second half and get something out of this.

Formation needs to change, we're growing into the game.

Not sure about the formation, getting Williams or Clarke on for Pratley to add more technical ability and creativity to the midfield.

When we have found space too often we’ve slowed down and the opportunity has gone. Need to sort that out as Sunderland will carry on getting back in numbers to defend their lead.

Picked up the pace in last 10 minutes - much better - lets hope its the opposite of Walsall game.

Sunderland defend better than us and are quicker on the break but we're still in it. Don't think we've been as bad as some are claiming on here.

Some of our playing out from the back is a bit ponderous and I do fear we'll be caught out from a misplaced pass.

Sunderland are a good side and we'll do well to get a result.

Tough game, but growing into it. Long way to go still

Whilst the subs have been warming up ay half time, Williams has been chatting to Sunderland players, finally joining in now

I think we're perfectly capable of getting a result.

    A 0-2 defeat.

Oh do piss off. He's a kid, being played out of position.
He is 22, when should he be open to criticism? 23, 24, 35? He has played about 25 games at this level, in that position.

Maybe it is the system that is exposing him but he is far from the youngest or least experienced player to play at this level. Not may players make dramatic improvements post 21, not convinced he will develop much beyond his current level.

A sterling effort from both sides but Team #SAFC reigned supreme in the pre-match @BETDAQ penalty shoot-out!

Skipper @JuanSartoriUY spotted home the fifth and final spot kick to seal the win!

Didn’t we take the lead early at their place only for a late turnaround in the second half giving them the points?
Here’s hoping we mirror their result

Not a lot between the two sides. They go front to back very quickly it’s almost long ball stuff from them. I think we will cause then problems in last 20. I have a feeling we are fitter than them. Just hope we are still in it by then.

Time for something radical in the second half ...

Three at the back: BFG, Bielik, Naby BeckenSarr.
    Wingbacks: Solly, Stevenson.
Midfield trio: Williams or Clarke, Morgan, Fossy.
    Up front: Lyle and Karlan.

46' Chalton make an early foray forward, but play is stopped while Taylor receives treatment. He'll be fine to continue.
