Wow, 3 Austin Princesses, you must have a high percentage of the ones still left!
First one was a Beetle (1975) It got me down from Grimsby to London for the promotion winning game against preston, despite having a broken piston.
Then the Fiat 128 that tried to kill me. Nut and bolt dropped off, jamming the accelerator in open. On the Kingston by pass. At 70 mph. Still brings me out in a cold sweat.
Then company cars. Opel Kadett, very boring, but then...
Golf GTI red, with all kinds of external extras. Nicknamed the Fire Engine at the agency. Unreliable.
Astra GTE with aftermarket turbo fitted. Phenomenal kick at 70mph with a beamer up my arse. Went to Communist Czechoslovakia in it. People had never seen anything like it there.
BMW 325 convertible. Summer of 1990 it was new, and I drove it to the Bulgarian Black Sea across all the newly opened borders. Icon, but I never really took to it. Then I moved out here, and at first the roads were rubbish, worried a normal car would be trashed in the potholes, or if German, nicked
So I had all three incarnations of the Toyota RAV4
Finally in 2013 I realised I didnt need an SUV, the roads were OK but I needed 4WD and I wanted to be greener, and that's when I came across the Citroen DS5 Hybrid, which I still have. I love it, same consumption as my wife's Yaris, comfortable, beautiful outside and in, and no other bugger's got one. Sadly it seems like they won't make a new one...
Ford Consul Capri (looked great but girlfriend wrote it off when she screamed and let go of the steering wheel approaching a roundabout, huh, women eh!)
Ford Anglia Estate (lovely motor, got stopped by the old bill, who arrested me for possession of lethal weapon, a krook lock, honest)
Ford Escort Estate (shit car, rolled it onto its roof with me and the dog in it)
Vauxhall Cresta Hydramatic (hankering after another)
Rover P5 Coupe (rust bucket. came with its own ⛽️ tanker)
Mini (could see the road through the floor panels)
Volkswagon Beetle (rear wheel came off while driving down Camden Road, bloody heater wouldn’t turn off, roasted me ankles)
2 x Citroen BX 1.9 GTI (both lovely motors, john)
Citroen CX Prestige (Possibly my favourite)
Volvo P1800 (restoration project, bloke told me it would take 6 months, took 6 years! Lovely motor though, John)
Nissan Cube (Most modern car I’ve owned and a real gem)
Morris Marina (1985) Mini (1987) Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 gls sporthatch (1988) Vauxhall Astra 1.3 merit (1990) Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6 gli (1994) Renault Laguna (1996) Ford Mondeo (1998) Ford Mondeo (1999) VW Bora (2000) Rover 75 (2002) Jaguar Xtype (2005) Renault Laguna (2005) Rover 75 (2006) Honda FRV (2007) Jaguar XF (2013) Jaguar XE (2016)

yes, main difference is size, but my XE doesn't have electric wing mirrors (which can be a bit of a pain) but that just might be down to the level of trim I have this time.

Fiesta Fiesta Fiesta ST Focus Titanium Focus Titanium X Ford SMax Titanium (much needed after we had twins!)
The Ford thing is due to family discount with my Dad being a former employee. Looking forward to the day when I buy something more ridiculous!
I had two Fiestas and two Foci while working for Ford Mo Co thanks to the employee suggestion scheme. I qualify for the discount on their cars in about 10 years time when take the pension. I don’t know what percentage you get off nowadays but back when I worked for them it was pretty decent, some people were changing their cars like socks.
Morris 1100 Mk2 YKN469J What a good car that was by the standards of the day (1982 when I'd just passed my test) Triumph Dolomite 1850 it's best days were well behind it when I bought it. Learned to be able to change the cylinder head gasket in less than two hours so often did it blow with the warped head, despite skimming. Shitebucket, but must have been lovely in its heyday. Hillman Hunter 1500DL in 'mood indigo' ie the dullest navy blue imaginable. One small cloud in the sky and it wouldnt start for damp. Renewed the entire HT system, new ignition bits - made sod all difference. Relieved when it failed its MoT. Bloke came back after ten minutes and said "It's passed on the lights." Austin Maxi - two tone paint. Boring as fuck. Cortina Mk2 1600E bought from a bloke who'd used it as a donor car for trim for his project. Looked like it had been shot up with all the badges missing. Gear lever came out of the socket as I was driving it home, but it did me a good couple of years. Toyota 1000 - bought for £120 on Christmas Eve from a bloke who needed money for presents for his kids. It looked like a hedgehog, but was neither as fast nor as safe. Written off from behind by a Datsun 120Y, that's how weak it was. Toyota Corolla coupe 1982. Frameless doors leaked like a sieve and made the front seats rot and absolutely stink. Written off by a Nissan cherry pulling out of a side road, despite the driver having made eye contact with me. Bizarre. Reliant Scimitar SE5A. Basically a barn find with a dodgy MoT. A bastard to drive, but fun in a straight line. Peugeot 205 XT - A silly little tinny car that I really enjoyed driving. Audi 80 GLS - TLP 14 R. A car from 1976 that made Fords ten years younger look prehistoric. A lovely thing. Audi 100 - F reg, the huge 5 cylinder thing. Enormous, comfortable, quick, economical. Family of four and luggage for two weeks and space left over. Vauxhall Belmont, the colour of pus. Spun it into a tree on a slippery road, and the dented wing only enhanced its looks. Morris Ital Estate. Rear diff failed after two weeks, and I didnt care, just glad to get shot. Vauxhall Victor FE - caught fire the same day I'd stripped and replaced the carburettor. Fire brigade said "probably the electrics". I kept quiet. Mercury Cougar Xr7. Cool name, shit car. Three speed auto, rattling little ends, feeble brakes. Written off in the back of a Dodge Caravan just outside San Francisco on a wet off-ramp. But it got me there from Tampa, so fair enough. Mazda 929 estate auto - ugly, looked like a hearse but held huuuuuge loads. Saab 9000 CSE anniversary - a lovely, lovely car. Still miss it, but not the fuel economy. Cost me £1000, lasted five years with no trouble Saab 9-3 convertible - totally vauxhallised, which is similar to being charltonised if you're a footballer. Scuttle shake to rattle your teeth out, crunching suspension, but a pretty car nonetheless. It rained for a year non-stop starting the day I bought it. Nissan 100nx - funny little glass roofed car. I didnt know what they were until i bought one. Utterly reliable, but economy and performance of a dust cart Jaguar X type diesel 2005 - current car, and what a good car it is. Cost me £1900 and I've put 75,000 on it in less than four years. Comfortable, good looking in a retro way, economical and totally reliable. Will get a newer one when this dies (but bear in mind the shit that precedes it).
Keep going everyone I’m writing all these down, I bought my first car off a fellow Charlton supporter and about 6-months later it basically split in three, when I see it pop up in a post then someone’s getting a slap

Three cars for the price of one - sounds a good deal to me.

You’d think but the steering wheel was in a different piece than the gearbox which would have made life a bit tricky....

My dream Jag would be the 2 seater F-type.
Brilliant car - I had the 3.0 S.
The most beautiful car built today in my opinion, but it wasn't a good daily driver - more of a weekend blast car, hence why I got rid.
There's a good chance I'll buy another when I eventually retire.

Lol sure did, not quite to the extreme lengths like Chris Harris & Matt Le Blanc! And the French stick fits perfectly on the parcel shelf which is kept warm by the glass until you get home. Perfect

1993 K reg Peugeot 205 diesel, bought 1996, owned until 2018 (by then approaching 200,000 miles on the clock) and written off after it was stolen and recovered in a bit of a mess (if I'd had somewhere undercover and secure I'd probably not have made a claim and got it sorted, but if I'd had somewhere secure and undercover it wouldn't have been stolen in the first bloody place)

I know I"ve missed some out!! But that has been a good exercise of the grey matter. At one point I had eight minis in my driveway as I used to bring them over from Belgium and convert them to right hand drive....I've not even began to count these and also a lhd Austin Allegro someone threw in on one of the Belgium Trips, couldn't even give it away.
Still a big car fan to this day....still want to get a Bentley S3 and a Ford Mustang 66 Convertible before they box me up.
Vauxhall PA Cresta (used in The Specials video Ghost Town)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ2oXzrnti4
Fiesta
Fiesta
Fiesta ST
Focus Titanium
Focus Titanium X
Ford SMax Titanium (much needed after we had twins!)
The Ford thing is due to family discount with my Dad being a former employee. Looking forward to the day when I buy something more ridiculous!
My dream Jag would be the 2 seater F-type.
Only had two that I actually loved;
Mk 3 Cortina XL
Mini 1000.
Both of them cheap for spares and easy to work on.
Triumph Dolomite 1850 it's best days were well behind it when I bought it.
Bloke came back after ten minutes and said "It's passed on the lights."
Austin Maxi - two tone paint.
Cost me £1000, lasted five years with no trouble
Saab 9-3 convertible - totally vauxhallised, which is similar to being charltonised if you're a footballer. Scuttle shake to rattle your teeth out, crunching suspension, but a pretty car nonetheless. It rained for a year non-stop starting the day I bought it.
Nissan 100nx - funny little glass roofed car. I didnt know what they were until i bought one. Utterly reliable, but economy and performance of a dust cart
Jaguar X type diesel 2005 - current car, and what a good car it is. Cost me £1900 and I've put 75,000 on it in less than four years. Comfortable, good looking in a retro way, economical and totally reliable. Will get a newer one when this dies (but bear in mind the shit that precedes it).
The most beautiful car built today in my opinion, but it wasn't a good daily driver - more of a weekend blast car, hence why I got rid.
There's a good chance I'll buy another when I eventually retire.
This was my beauty:
No body will trump this unless they owned Bodie's Capri IMO
D reg green and white Citroen 2CV called Sprout.
G reg plums and custard Citroen 2CV called Delilah.
D reg red and white Citroen 2CV called Robyn - who I only sold just before we moved to Ireland because it had a St George cross roof. It’s still being driven by the lad I sold it to for 3 times the price I paid for it ten years before.
I drive my hubbies white Fiat 500 daily, his name is Carlos Fandango Fannymagnet. I do love him. But he’s not a Deux Cheuvaux
