@TCE came looking for you yesterday mate when I got to the ground, but didn't see you. Did you leave as soon as the walk finished? I went into the main car park looking for JJ and Valie and the van, but to no avail, sorry I missed you pal.
Left straight away, the walk came into the west stand car park via the away end. I walked straight out the other exit, stopped for some stewards to pose with the dogs for photos. I was parked on Shootershill, was home by 2.00 and watched the game on the tv. 😀
Well, slight exaggeration, but over 100 members of this forum community either participated in the Annual Walk for the Upbeats on Saturday or contributed towards it.
Our forum raised over £7,100 alone, somehow managing to smash last years total of £6,700. Wider fundraising from everyone else doing the walk amounted to £8,900, meaning a very healthy £16,000 was raised this year from the walk. That provides a fantastic base in supporting this tremendous scheme for another 12 months.
We as a forum have managed to maintain a strong link and support for the Upbeats since it’s inception over a decade ago. Over those years we’ve through our fundraising, auctions and competitions raised and donated an incredible £69,000 for the scheme.
We are so so proud and grateful to every individual on here who embraces and supports these events. Thank you once again. I won’t let anyone tell me otherwise that this continues to be the best and most giving football community in the world.
£69,000 - fantastic. Should break £100,000 in a couple of years! Can't think of another charitable cause which gives so much instant delight and which represents money so well spent and so clearly gratefully received.
