Griezmann leaves Atlético Madrid this summer, he will have spent 17 years in La Liga - without ever winning the title.

Almost impressive how he managed it - he's joined the reigning champions 3 times in that period, and Atletico and Barcelona both won it again a couple of years after he left.

    Proper jug avoidance.

1965-66 was the last season where no manager was sacked by a top flight English team.
If we're waiting for that to happen again before England win another tournament we might as well give up now.
I agree. That statistic has dyer consequences.

Spurs have sacked more managers than they’ve had home league wins since last May (3 to 2).

Kimi Antonelli who leads the F1 World Drivers Championship wasn't born for another month

In the last 3 world cups, Italy have qualified the same number of times as San Marino. San Marino admittedly haven't won the Euros during that time.

Sweden are the first team in history to qualify for a world cup that took part in and failed to win a single game in their qualification group.

    Here’s one:
A man can manage an international team and a club team at the same time and deliberately make selections for a meaningless international friendly that benefits his club team, yet suffer no consequences for this blatant utilisation of a conflict of interests.
Also, when he gets called out on it, he is indignant that anyone had the cheek to question his morals.

It’s pretty unbelievable behaviour and reminds me of the sort of twat who gaslights his wife by being ‘offended’ that she suspects him of cheating on her - even though he is.

(Actually, on reflection, and given the corrupt nature of professional football, this does sound true, so maybe it doesn’t belong in this thread?)
