Easter Sunday Grub

was astounded going past a McDonalds yesterday lunchtime and seeing how busy it was.

If you had something outside a traditional roast yesterday, share with us what it was

  • Something else - home cooked (what?)
Sweet and sour ribs, spicy sausage and assorted stir fried veggies.

Wasn't really easter dinner though, just a normal day.

Pork chop, two fried eggs and chips.

Unusual Easter fare. Had been expecting to be eating out down in Dorset but had to cancel the trip. Went to buy stuff for a roast yesterday to find the supermarket was closed.

Slow roast shoulder of lamb in cumin, paprika, lemon and herbs.

Home made coleslaw (olive oil and lemon juice), Mediterranean beans, dolmas and flatbread.

A nice yoghurt, cumin, chilli and mint dressing for the lamb.

    Bloody handsome.

We were in an Italian restaurant in Rochester after cycling there.
I had bruschetta, spaghetti aglio ollio peperencino and panna cotta.
And I pressed the wrong button on the survey.
  • Other meat / veggie roast
had Duck in a plum sauce

couldn't be bothered doing lamb because some of the people over like it bloody and others like it well done.

We had family over on the Saturday for a 6th birthday party so we had leftover cold meats and mash potatoes on Sunday
  • Lamb Roast
Had a beautiful leg of lamb. Slow roasted for 5 hours so that all of the meat fell off the bone, minted new potatoes and green veg with a gravy made from the juices from the meat.

  • Lamb Roast
Leg and shoulder of lamb roasted with all the trimmings
  • Fancied lamb but like it fairly rare, unlike a couple of guests.

Did roast chicken with all the trimmings, followed by fruit salad, then tea and hot cross buns & Easter eggs later on.

All washed down with a couple of large Hoeggardens, estrellas and bubbly

    Something else - takeaway (what?)
Went out for chicken piri-piri at a local restaurant with mates. €60 for four people including tip.
  • Something else - home cooked (what?)
Had family for tea on Saturday, so we had the leftovers for lunch - sandwiches and party type food.
  • Lamb Roast
Anyone that does not have a lamb roast after mass on Easter Sunday is committing blasphemy and should receive 20 lashes.

The cost of just having a roast dinner out is a joke.
Went to a bar restaurant in what was the Coney hall last week
17 quid got 3 roast potatoes with that and sure it was a frozen yorkshire pudding.
    Not that I'm moaning
  • Lamb Roast
Beautiful lamb lunch, with saffron roast potatoes and griddled asparagus, followed by home-made raspberry ice cream; lashings of pinot noir.  Only snag was the timing.  Due to serve up at 2, ended up eating at 7:30.
  • Something else - home cooked (what?)
    A slice of buttered toast.
