I must admit I got a bit choked up when singing the red red robin nothing is more Charlton than that song and to sing it with nearly 40k other addicks brought tears to my eyes what a day.

Amazed me how many people were singing along after the game yesterday when no one does at The Valley. A great moment!
I too had tears at the “red red robin “ what an unexpected, but brilliant touch . Whoever had that idea , a big well done . I’ve been an addick for 54 years with far more lows than highs . But that song is about who we are.
Nothing - why do I want to be drowned out by some crap song and blinded by fireworks and ticker tape when all I want to see and hear is 40,000 addicks cheering?
somewhere on the “general things that annoy you” thread is a long list of all the nonsense of modern football, and this fits right in.
bah humbug
In fairness they got it about right and at least it seemed considered. No random chumbawumba and Tina Turner (like last time)

In my opinion we should play Red, Red Robin at the end of every home game, especially if we've won.
Play it when they walk out before the game, play it at the final whistle.
I just wanted them to stop the music for a few minutes so we could sing VFR , just us in the stadium ,full throttle ,while our players were on the pitch.
As great as that would have been, the crowd would probably just revert back to the ‘allez allez allez’ song.

When I watched the quest highlights of the game and heard the ‘big band’ sound of the red red robin coming over loud and clear over pictures of Sunderland players and fans I thought that it would be perfect backtrack for Netflix if they are recording their season and want to end with a haunting moment
The events company who run it all get in touch with us and give us three categories of songs to give them to play in the event of victory. First category was Key Club Tracks so I sent them VFR, Red Red Robin and Twist and Shout. Next up was Player Specific which is where Just Can’t Get Enough, September and Something Good came in. Finally they asked for Club/Area specific so London Calling and Into The Valley were put forward. They basically played those on a loop which was perfectly timed for Red Red Robin as the players went up the steps. I’ve always said it could and should be a proper football song that could be belted out by us so that was a special moment. Maybe a change of full-time victory music to Red Red Robin at The Valley could be on the cards next season? Either that or Twist and Shout, it would be interesting to hear opinions on that from fans so let me know!

Play red red robin. As I commented elsewhere the pictures of the Sunderland fans and players against a backtrack of the big band sound of RRR looked haunting.
Play RRR at the end of every game we win and it will stay with the losing players and when they next play at the Valley and come out to that tune it will trigger memories of losing.

Red, Red Robin please; it's the club's song, it's part of our tradition, no other club uses it.
Play nothing that connects with the club when we lose
Trouble is I love RRR for when we come out of the tunnel at the start of the game, its the one time we hear it during a game and would sound weird having it playing at the end too

Until last Sunday I would have agreed with you on that, now I think playing RRR at the end as well if we win is a great idea

Please assure me and many others that we will NEVER play music when we score a goal. The sound of the crowd is a million times better than being drowned out by music.
The same is true at the full time whistle. I get that the trend is to whack out loud music, but at least give it 30 seconds so that we can have a proper cheer / clap.
If you or others are inclined (or persuaded / forced) to consider it, please hold firm, or at least consult widely...

There won’t ever be any goal music as long as I’m involved

The Valley is our home, make it feel like ours.
keep thinking back and remembering, kept meaning to comment here.
A lot of people I know sang on the recording of that song and a lot of work was put into it.
Jensen Lisbie and Svennson also had a go!

Twist & Shout is the anthem of our current squad
I guess @Ollywozere's now answered this question! Well played Olly.

will have to decide when the tunnel jump fits in, though
New thread time: what should be Charlton's tunnel jump theme song?
Jump Around - House of Pain
or my personal favourite, Jump - Fad Gadget
or perhaps it could be the bobbin' along bit of RRR.
