I am just gonna assume that everyone wants Bielik, Bauer and Aribo back. Not to mention our staff. So what do you think we should do for each of the following players, if you could run the show and if other clubs were willing to extend loans, etc? Hope I have all these players listed correctly as out of contract. Let me know if I missed someone.
Chris Maxwell
Ben Purrington
Chris Solly
Jake Forster-Caskey
Josh Cullen
Jonny Williams
Ben Reeves
Tariq Fosu
Mark Marshall
Igor Vetokele
Josh Parker
My vote....which is admittedly certainly the least informed, based mainly on match reports from others here in 18/19...
Chris Maxwell - NO
Ben Purrington -YES, hell yes
Ben Purrington -YES, hell yes
Chris Solly -YES, finish his career here
Jake Forster-Caskey -YES
Josh Cullen -YES
Jonny Williams - YES, hope he stays healthy
Ben Reeves - NO, had moments but I never wanted him because he took his time deciding to join.
Tariq Fosu - NO, although I think he may slightly bounce back next year somewhere else
Mark Marshall - NO, never wanted him in the first place
Igor Vetokele - YES
Josh Parker - YES

I thought Pearce and Solly were already contracted for another season?
You "assume that everyone wants Bielik, Bauer and Aribo back." Surprised you did not include Cullen with them. Equally valuable, surely, although I think we have no chance of re-signing him.
Josh Parker seems a nice guy and we thank him for his (eventual) contribution, but is a League Two standard player.
Vetokele and Williams would need some sort of fitness proviso written into their contracts.3 -
Transfermarkt shows both out of contract but I am pretty sure you are right about Pearce, I think we have him one more year. I will remove him from the list. Can't find anything online about Solly signing but does not mean he did not. Can anyone confirm?

I feel like Cullen is criminally underrated by some fans, that boy is absolutely mustard.
I'd argue that a major issue with our midfield over the past few years is that we never had anyone who could get the ball going forwards. So often we would get bogged down with side passes or back passes in the first third of the pitch, however Cullen is much more dynamic then that.
Lots of what we do good goes through him.

Chris Maxwell - No idea, how do you decide on a player who didn't play a minute?
Ben Purrington - Possibly. Certainly can't rely on Page for a season.Chris Solly - Probably.Jake Forster-Caskey - YesJosh Cullen - Duh!Jonny Williams - YesBen Reeves - Possibly. Is he really Championship material?Tariq Fosu - Possibly. Can he get his head sorted?Mark Marshall - NoIgor Vetokele - Only on a 'pay per play' basis
Josh Parker - Thanks for working your bolox off but no.4 -
I’d keep Fosu but LB won’t and I respect that.
keep JFC and Williams and ditch the rest.5 -
How anyone can even question solly is madness the guy has been an unbelievable servant to the club and I hope we don’t lob him on the scrap heap as thought Charlton and it’s fans were better than that.4

Chris Maxwell NoBen Purrington YesChris Solly Yes but he is fast becoming a role model than a starterJake Forster-Caskey YesJosh Cullen YesJonny Williams YesBen Reeves NoTariq Fosu Last season he would have been top of my list to stay not sure what has happened, but he is now a no.Mark Marshall NoIgor Vetokele Yes, but hopefully as a third strikerJosh Parker No1

Chris Maxwell - more a case of whether he'd want to stay, which is unlikely.
Ben Purrington - definitely yes.Chris Solly - yesJake Forster-Caskey - yes, worth a 1 year deal with an extension clause written in if he can prove he's over his injury.Josh Cullen - definite yes but think West ham will have a look at him in pre-season and then decide.Jonny Williams - YesBen Reeves - NoTariq Fosu - Wouldn't mind him as a squad player but think his time here is done.Mark Marshall - No.Igor Vetokele - Yes but only if he agrees to some kind of pay as you play deal.Josh Parker - No chance. Average league one player at best.0 - Sponsored links:

Solly has another year4

I thought Forster-Caskey signed a new contract while he was out injured, or was that Page?0

Chris Maxwell Don't know . He is at least third choice at Preston behind Declan Rudd and Conor Ripley . They also have Michael Crowe , so he might be available on a free . Would he be the best available option this summer ?
Ben Purrington Yes . Will Rotherham bump up the price now ? Or even might they wish to keep him . Probably one of the best left backs in L1 so they might have reappraised his future .
Chris Solly . No . Sorry guys we need a new RB . Solly wouldn't be Champ standard now . Maybe a backroom role .Jake Forster-Caskey Yes . Think he deserves a chance to rebuild his career with us . We could always loan him if his fitness is an issue pre season
Josh Cullen . Not in our hands . Maybe West Ham will let him return when pre season is over .
Jonny Williams . Yes . He has now achieved a remarkable feat in being loved by both Addicks and Nigels after being a play off hero for both
Ben Reeves . Yes . Unless we can get better players . Reeves had his moments last season and deserves a chance to step up
Tariq Fosu . No . looks like Robbo wants him at Oxford .
Mark Marshall . No .I liked him . He tried hard . But when
Igor Vetokele . Not at the same financial package as previously . See above with Maxwell .
Josh Parker Yes . I suspect his agent would have negotiated something when he signed in January if we got promoted .

Chris Maxwell - I'd rather a permanent backup keeper than cluttering up a loan spotBen Purrington - yesChris Solly - under contract anywayJake Forster-Caskey - yes, I assume he's fully over his injury now, as Bowyer wouldn't have put him on the bench in crucial playoff games otherwiseJosh Cullen - definite yesJonny Williams - yesBen Reeves - Maybe, but the emergence of Morgan has pushed him down the ladderTariq Fosu - No, clearly completely fallen out with Bowyer and coMark Marshall - No, but decent blokeIgor Vetokele - no, unless it's on a low basicJosh Parker - No, but wouldn't be too upset if he got another year as his wages won't be high.0
-
Chris Maxwell - Who knows, if he is happy to sit on the bench and wait for a chanceBen Purrington - Keep, still would like either page to come back full fitness or we need a pacey LB to challenge BenChris Solly- Keep, experience, might not be a starter now. Although I don't see Djksteel future at RB so might need another.Jake Forster-Caskey- Keep, definitely good enough just if he can prove his fitnessJosh Cullen- unlikely, but would like him to be sent back end of the transfer windowJonny Williams- Keep, touch of class just fitness doubts, but worth a crack imoBen Reeves - Take or leave, if we can replace with a better option would be betterTariq Fosu - Depends what one, last seasons would be a no brainer. I don't think he works in the current system but has pace and trickery to be a squad playerMark Marshall - Not really given much since we signed him, on that alone I would say he isn't good enough for the step up.Igor Vetokele- If can stay fit yes, need to sign a main 2nd striker and use Igor as and when available.Josh Parker- No- done well for us mainly but not good enough, just about does a job in league one1

Chris Maxwell - We need someone to fight with Phillips for the number 1 spot, he has Championship experience so yes.Ben Purrington - YesChris Solly- YesJake Forster-Caskey- YesJosh Cullen - YesJonny Williams - Yes if the wages are reasonable.Ben Reeves - NoTariq Fosu - NoMark Marshall - NoIgor Vetokele - NoJosh Parker - No0

I don’t get the love affair with Purrington. He’s positional defensive play is terrible. Caught out of position so many times. Slow jogs back from attack.
And going forward he has taken on about 3 players all season.
we need better5 -

Maxwell--Meh, probably no, didn't see him obviously, but we do need someone to compete with Phillips.
Purrington-Got better as he went on but still young and thus raw. A solid 6/10 player but has a mistake or two in him. I'll go yes only on the notion that it would be hard to get a significant upgrade. But with him and Page at Champo level, that looks a potential weakspot to me.
Sols-Yes. Though he starts pre-season as 2nd choice RB to Dijksteel for me and I think his powers are truly on the decline.
JFC-Yes. First name on the list. People have forgotten how good he was in the run-in last season. Will adapt to Champo nicely, and has already played a decent amount at that level.
Cullen-Absolutely. Think it's feasible he could come back but it won't be until after it's clear he's not in West Ham's plans.
Bielik--Yes, but I think he's going to a Prem or Bundesliga club on loan next season. But a midfield spine of him, JFC, and Cullen sounds very promising.
Williams--Yes, as described above, if the wages aren't incredibly prohibitive. But a classy player and in a full season could work on his end product making him a potential star at Championship level.
Reeves-Yes. Always feel he's underrated. He probably doesn't start ever week but he's a very clever and gifted football good at finding space. The better pitches in the Championship will do well for him. Keeps the ball well. Final ball lacking, but a decent finisher. Could be a really handy squad player, and some of his best performances came from the bench with defenses tiring where he could find space.
Fosu--Yes if there's a chance of mending things with Bowyer/JJ and being brought back into the fold, which most likely means no. Good luck to him though.
Marshall-No, but will always get a round of applause from me whenever he comes up against us. Always gave his all. Always smiling. Clearly from the celebrations an integral part of the team. It just didn't work out for him here. But good luck to you Marshy.
Vetokele--Another "wages permitting" thing. But he showed in a run of games what he's capable of, quick, strong, clever, and a good finisher. He'll probably always be a streaky player, but when he's hot, he's hot, and a good foil for Taylor. Think we're unlikely to get much better.
Parker-No, but cheers Josh. You always worked very hard. His touch looked poor in League One. But one of those players we'll remember fondly in years to come for the part he played in the run in.
Bonus--Aribo: Yes, but he won't sign. Good luck Joe.
Bonus--Bauer: Again unlikely, but would have BFG back in a heartbeat. Wembley hero, and generally solid defender.5 -
Chris Maxwell - Why not ? LB obviously thought he was good enough and we need another experienced keeper. Maybe another season loan.Ben Purrington - Same again, the fella has got what it takes. No hesiitation (if he is for sale)Chris Solly - One year deal as a thank you. He will struggle playing 46 Championship games.Jake Forster -Caskey - same again.Josh Cullen - WHU under 23's got relegated. He will go back there I expect.Jonny Williams - YES, definitely want him back next year. he is an impact player. We all saw it, when it mattered at Wembley.Ben Reeves - No.Tariq Fosu - NoMark Marshall - He has been coaching with Jacko. Keep him for that.Igor Vetokele - No. Not reliable enough for the Championship.Josh Parker - No, probably a nice fella, but not good enough.0
-
Chris Maxwell - noBen Purrington - yesChris Solly - no. No room for sentiment.Jake Forster-Caskey - noJosh Cullen - yesJonny Williams - no. Talented but injury prone. No budget for luxuries.Ben Reeves - noTariq Fosu - noMark Marshall - noIgor Vetokele - no. Too many injuries.Josh Parker - no. Worked hard but doesn't score goals.
As it stands we will have to make the most of a limited budget. Anyone on inflated wages from early in the regime (and out of contract) has to go. Understandably fans were euphoric over the weekend but I feel with the current squad we will be battling relegation. If he stays, Bowyer will need to rebuild a competitive team once again.3 -
I think Ben Reeves is actually more suited to The Championship than league one.3

What about the BFG?0

Anfernee Dijksteel also out of contract

Chris Maxwell: Reckon he'll leave Preston regardless; is a good experienced Goalkeeper at this level and is the type of No.2 we need
Ben Purrington: We need to build a team, he clearly fits the way we play so yes I'd sign him
Chris Solly: He's already under contract so nothing to talk about here
Jake Forster-Caskey: Wonder if Oxford might be interested as Karl Robinson will know him, I'd keep him though
Josh Cullen: I'd re-sign him in a heartbeat, just hope he's not stuck playing for the U23s till January
Jonny Williams: Yup; he was a class above League One and is the sort of player we need to survive in the Championship
Ben Reeves: Sorry but he just didnt impress me enough in League One, was very disappointed actually
Tarique Fosu: He's already gone in my opinion, nothing to talk about with regards to him
Mark Marshall: One of the most disappointing signings in recent years!!... Could even end in League Two next season
Igor Vetokele: I wouldnt offer him a Contract until towards the end of the Summer (to see how his Pre-Season goes), but I imagine someone else will no doubt come along and offer him terms
Josh Parker: Sorry lad but no, bit like Marshall could be another one who could have his career go anywhere now0 -
