Glastonbury 2019

edited June 2019 in Not Sports Related
Anyone else going?

Any tips or bands I should try to make a point of seeing?

Mavis Staples & Dub Pistols I am looking forward to but any other suggestions.

Oh and if you;

'couldnt think of anything worse'
'think its a rubbish line up'
'think its not as good as it was'
'would rather stick pins in your eyes/watch paint dry/electrocute your testicles etc etc

then great, crack on.

Are any of the Wu-Tang Clan still with us?
  • Seen the Cure twice in last 12 months, probably worth a shout 😂

Terrific to start with and still releasing good albums.
  • As SG3 is a soft terrorist he'll like Hawkwind's "Urban Guerilla" (banned by the BBC)
  • Never really been big into music that much really, been to a few gigs 25/30 years ago and never ever  been to a festival but there was a documentary on about Glastonbury last night and it looked excellent (Well for me)
I remember my brother used to chauffeur the stars around and ended up on stage with Fun Lovin Criminals at Glastonbury in 1999.

Can you imagine your music making the crowd bounce like that? Must be amazing!
  • My only tip to  @SE7toSG3 is remember that you are not 16 anymore
  • Glastonbury? I thought you were a casual winker!

Idles if you like punk. Friday 19.45 The Park Stage.
Fat White Family, Sunday 16.30 The Park Stage.
Only if you like punk & Mark E Smith sort of stuff.

Obviously, The Killers, Liam Gallagher and The Cure.

I see Rowland the Bastard is on 05-00 to 06.00 Saturday at Blind Tiger.
I'm sure you'll want to see him. DJ I think.
  • A bit of local interest, although not necessarily a recommendation.
Chris Difford Friday 14.30 at Free University of Glastonbury.
  • For the last 30 years I've promised myself that I'd do Glastonbury next year.
  • Did you get your Saga discount @SE7toSG3?

  • If I was there I would find it very difficult to choose between the killers and the chemical brothers as saturday headliners. I think the cure will prove to be one of the all time great glastonbury sets, I'm gutted to not be there for it
  • Don't wear your jellies or farahs
    What music genre are they?
  • Idles are by far the best live band around at moment so strongly recommend seeing them
  • Been to loads of festivals across UK / Europe and also went to Burning Man in US in 2010. Glastonbury is hands down the best though!  I'm gutted I did not get a ticket this year for the first time in ages. Get to as many of the 90 or so stages as you can and have an absolute blast!
  • 90 stages?
  • Good to see that 3 local acts (from Hastings) will be there. Can recommend Sister Susie if your there.

just have a proper look around at as many stages as possible. there will be bands/acts that you might no little to nothing about but turn out to be brilliant. also you get to feel and enjoy more of the atmosphere away from the crowded areas. for me looking at the main acts apart from The Cure, possibly the Killers or wu tang clan, fat white family and Slaves there isnt much i would put myself out for.
  • 90 stages?
    And the rest
  • Get yourselves down to block 9 and shangri la to burn off some serotonin.
