Personally I believe the term 'pikey' to be racist and offensive in it's attempt to describe a whole community in pejorative terms.
Not sure it’s racist as it is a term more used to describe anyone who lives in a caravan.
Definitely offensive and may, therefore, be deemed appropriate given the context it was used? A trifle over the top IMO, but it’s all down to perceptions.
The urban dictionary has an interesting definition.
It's official, BBW has been Charltonised!!! Talking grammar and worrying about the CL thought police when he should be organising pavement dancing events and getting kitted out for a new flat cap!

'Is some' should be used for singular.
'Are some' should be used for plural.
We were referred to as being a group, therefore 'are' would be correct. Trust me, I'm a pik.......
Are members of the bunch - plural
Well, this is all very embarrassing.
The 'bunch' bit didn't even register in my tiny little brain.
Unfortunately the 'racist' bit still stands

Unless Pompey are at Waterloo.
Nope.
Not certain you can be racist to a 'community' that has a lifestyle rather than a race.
You're sailing very close to the wind, Mr Jones
He must have signed .... but no it's mainly about one of our resident Spanners trying to wriggle out of admitting he's a Pikey.
But he's alright really. He likes grammar and trains.
Should have been an Addick.
