I think Harriott is a better player than Fosu, personally.

This feels like Jordan Cousins all over again. People are comparing Championship players to League One players.

And then saying that the Championship players are worse.
Bet you wouldn't be saying that if your name was Tariquecafc.. although I do agree.

Cast your mind back to when Nathan Jones had the u23s, they and the FA youth cup team played the same diamond formation as Bowyer.  Cousins played at RB, Piggott, Azeez and Tobi silver rotated as split strikers.  Who played at the base?  Who played as the 10? I'll give you a clue, they are both unattached and one played for us tonight

LB pretty much summed it up, we were very poor.

Harriot has not learned must have been offside at least 4 times in the short time he was on.

Definitely. Harriott has spent almost his entire career playing in the Championship and he's still only 25. Fosu had a few good games for us here and there in League One over two years and in the end his attitude was so bad Bowyer didn't even want him in the squad.

Harriott doesn't really fit our formation any more than Fosu did, but evidently Bowyer sees him as a possibility up front. Probably hedging his bets; he wants two more strikers, we'll go out for loans, and if we can't get the signings and loan players we want Harriott will be the pacy striker we settle for. It's basically what we did with Parker. We may just have to make do given our budget

Exactly what I was just going to put myself

Fosu was awful last season and that was against League One teams, imagine those performances against teams in the Championship, not to mention he's only gone to Oxford!!

Then compare him with Harriott whose poor performances were in the Championship and when we started to piss around with Managers

Wouldnt have been surprised had Luton signed Callum if Nathan Jones was still there

It wouldn't surprise me if Jacko pointed Bow in the direction of Callum Harriott.

If fully recovered from his injuries we could do a lot worse.

Sorry but I wouldn't have Harriet in the side at all. I know we have no budget but that youngster Wiredu would do a much better job. Better touch, good pace and two good finishes in two games. I know they're only friendlies but this kid looks hungry and very focused, gets into good positions, physical and has good feet.
  • John we are shopping at Aldi where they specialise in 2 for 1. Take both. Doubt Wiredu has played as a striker for a while, and while quick, not on Calli scale.

If we lose to Ebbsfleet we're definitely gonna get relegated.

Quick reminder, who played as a 10, in a diamond in our last good youth team?

Junior looked very impressive, Brendan with another goal.

Taylor went round the goalkeeper and lost his way in the first half and maybe should have done better. Went close in the second, but seemed a bit disinterested.
Defence was awful 1st half and so was the rest of team to be fair. Slow and predictable and no one linking with the forwards. Really have to pray we don’t pick up any injuries this season.

As soon as the second side came on it looked much better - as you would expect with a side with a proper defence. We got more men in the box and it was very comfortable.

Nice club, but several jobsworths amongst the stewards.

As forFleetwood, sign up trialist A. That is the first trialist A and not the one that came on in the second half so we had two trialist A’s on the pitch. The number 19 was the one fouled for the penalty and then scored the second. A Fleet supporter said he is ex Charlton!

Pleasant enough evening until I sprained my ankle walking back to my car.

You often get ridiculous games in a friendly. We will probably beat Villa now.
  • Norwich were dog awful against us and I thought cert for relegation on their showing.

Its pre season though, whole lot of whinging for nothing.

What can LB afford on Roland's budget?
  • Anyone know where Aouachria is? He seemed to do well in the youth/reserve games last season.

I thought Harriott was good for a handful of games at the end of 12-13 but otherwise erratic .

Seriously? Based on what? Harriott flatters to deceive often but he has made over 100 appearances in the Championship. Sarpong-Wiredu has done quite well in two friendlies against non-league sides. Let's not get too silly

Callum Harriott is only on trial, he has been convicted already on here by some, let Lee Bowyer be the judge
  • Honestly don't know why we would expect a player who wasn't that great in the championship 4 years ago, then wasn't that great for Reading either, playing just 24 times in 3 years, to be any good now.

Reading finished 20th in the championship last season and they didn't want him, which for me says it all.

For me he is a league one player at best, but if Bowyer decides he's worthy of a deal then we'll obviously have to trust him.

LB will look at Harriott while he is trying to bring others in. If we fail to secure those "others" then Harriott will probably be offered a deal.
  • Harriott will only get a deal because we're desperate and he's cheap - we are shopping at Poundland.

While there are gaping homes in our starting eleven, we also need squad players. I don't know what people expect with our Burton Albion sized budget.
