If its a free transfer then yes the paperwork needs to have been completed by midday but just because it can be announced @ 8pm tonight doesnt mean to say the paperwork hadnt been completed in time2 -

What I believe has happened here (as I posted yesterday) is Brighton originally offered us both Kayal and Hemed as loans.
As we only had one loan position available we were able to take Kayal on. Brighton then agreed to cancel Hemed's contract to allow him to sign perm for us as a free agent and I would suspect that the EFL are looking into the legality of such a move before we are given the green light to proceed with his signature.
My mate from Brighton believes that they did everything right from their end.6 -

So reading between the lines it looks like the FA didn't think we did things at the right time. As they are sticklers for rules and also judge and jury I suspect this isn't going through. Still a good day yesterday.0
