Might well be happy to get his wages off their accounts though... Brighton and Charlton have long had good relations so could be a similar deal to the one we got with Williams last seasonNo.1 in South London said:
Not a free agent as Brighton activated an extension clause in his contract keeping him at Brighton for another year until 2020. They did this to try and realise some value by selling him on. they offered him to Brentford as part of the Maupay deal, but Brentford declined. They would have needed to agree to cancel his contract yesterday to allow him to sign for us as a free agent.Lincsaddick said:it seems he is a free agent as his BHA contract expired in 'summer 2019' .. he's been at QPR on loan ..could be he's shopping around for the best deal .. he's 32 and needs a good contract2 -
Needs to sign by midday if they want him to play tomorrow I think1

thanks for that .. so if he's not a free agent and it appears that he's not signed for us ????No.1 in South London said:

Signings still be announced by sky so it doesn’t necessarily mean that this is off1

If its a loan then the signing would have been done as needed to be completed by 7pm yesterdayIanaddick62 said:Needs to sign by midday if they want him to play tomorrow I think
If its a free transfer then yes the paperwork needs to have been completed by midday but just because it can be announced @ 8pm tonight doesnt mean to say the paperwork hadnt been completed in time2 -
Press conference from Lee Bowyer now0

Not exactly............... they could have agreed to cancel his contract yesterday, which would then allow him to sign for us as a free agent. This is what I think has held everything up and I am confident that we have our man.Lincsaddick said:

From today’s press conference
💬LB: “We don’t know what’s happening with Tomer Hemed now. It’s complicated, but we’re working with the FA to show that we did the right things at the right time. We’re confident it can still happen, but it’s out of our hands at the moment." #cafc

Anyone know what Bowyer said about the Hemed deal ?

could be the Colchester right back?0

What I believe has happened here (as I posted yesterday) is Brighton originally offered us both Kayal and Hemed as loans.
As we only had one loan position available we were able to take Kayal on. Brighton then agreed to cancel Hemed's contract to allow him to sign perm for us as a free agent and I would suspect that the EFL are looking into the legality of such a move before we are given the green light to proceed with his signature.
My mate from Brighton believes that they did everything right from their end.6 -

So reading between the lines it looks like the FA didn't think we did things at the right time. As they are sticklers for rules and also judge and jury I suspect this isn't going through. Still a good day yesterday.0

We can still appeal. We've got a 100% record when we appeal.10

Beram Kayal secretly relieved to have shaken off the bloke that follows him everywhere.36

Who else expects the FA to turn round and say it was frivolous?2

Didn't someone on here have a friend at the EFL? Can they not get an update?0

Surely someone at the EFL must travel by train. Who have we got at Waterloo that can keep an eye out?Dazzler21 said:Didn't someone on here have a friend at the EFL? Can they not get an update?

It's the FA not the EFL.Dazzler21 said:Didn't someone on here have a friend at the EFL? Can they not get an update?1 -

I have everything crossed on this one. A good strike partner for Lyle is so important and could be the difference between staying up and going down.6

EFL reporting they've got some other paperwork concerning Charlton they're just waiting to complete first...27
