Fantastic - win this year and it's three in a row (might be more as I don't have the previous seasons).

  • Our U15s (and younger) have been playing in the NI Super Cup - the tournament they won last season.

They didn't make the semi-finals of the main competition this time around, but are in the final of the 'Globe' tournament.

    Group Results:
Charlton 0-1 Plymouth (eventual group winners)
    Charlton 4-1 St Mirren
    Charlton 3-0 Fermanagh

    Globe Results
    SF: Charlton 4-1 Stevenage
Final: Charlton vs Prospects to Pro - Today (28/7), 2:30pm

    Team Page: https://supercupni.com/team/charlton-athletic/

How can you be younger than under-15?
In youth footballing terms (because this is a youth football thread). For the 2023/24 season, being born on or later than 1st September 2009.

I also acknowledge the fact that anyone under the age 15 is indeed an under-15.

22/23 - South Champions - National Runners Up
21/22 - South Champions - National Runners Up
20/21 - South Champions - National Runners Up
    19/20 - Didn't Finish
18/19 - Not sure, we weren't Champions of South or National
    17/18 - 2nd in South - National Champions
    16/17 - ???
    15/16 - 2nd in South - National Champions

Basically we're much more likely to win the National Championship games when we finish second.

That is some incredibly impressive record though.
    18/19 - 6th in the South.
16/17 - 2nd in the South. Lost 2-0 at Sheffield Utd in the semi final.

Thanks. Couldn't find the answers of those on the quick search I did

How many games left? The number of games doesn't seem to work out as there are only 10 teams in the league you would expect to play each team an equal number of times but that would mean a further 10 games left for us to play which can't be right?

Believe you play the other nine teams in the southern section home and away and the northern teams just once.  We should have three games left but not checked.

We've got 3, Bristol City 1. Then it'll be the semi final and final if we win the semi.

We do. All away in games that’ll have the young lads up, down & back up the country in just a week.  Seems like a pretty unfair fixture set up.

    Birmingham 4th May
    Bournemouth 7th
    Fleetwood 11th

  • Sol - Loza is a name made for a terrace song.

    One more point.🤞
  • Won 2-1 at Birmingham City, today. Sol-Loza bagged the winner.

Bristol City also won, so 1 more point is needed from the remaining two games to clinch the Southern section title and a home semi-final.
Brilliant !!! Bless their cotton socks !

Harmony Okwumo likely leaving this summer. Sounds like a good prospect so disappointing news.

How long has he been with us for?

I think he may not be on the retained list.

OS says he’s 19 in November so he’s currently a second year. It would be interesting to know if we offered him a pro deal and he’s turned it down or we’re releasing him.

Good luck to the under 18s for their away game at Bournemouth today. A point or better wins the league.

Assume that he must have signed a professional contract already at 18 (usually sign at 17 I think), so even if he has rejected a new one we should get some level of compensation?

I’m not sure how compensation works if they haven’t signed a pro deal and leave at the end of their scholarship.

17 is the earliest they can sign pro, but that’s only usually to the better prospects. Most second years will sign in theirs in the summer when they’re 18 (or soon to turn 18 for the youngest in the year group) ahead of moving up to the u21s for the new season.

0-3 - Mbick, Safa and now Enslin.

    We'd still get something.

We've got money for players nicked at 17 before.

Not sure how reliable that website is, though.

    Easy, easy.

    Any idea who scored?
  • And so it continues onwards & upwards.

    Great stuff, lads !
  • Another brilliant season.
Well done Steve Avory and all the staff, if you’re only runners up next season you have a lot of credit already, it will pass without comment.
