Charlton U18s' Professional Development League Two play-off semi-final against Barnsley will be available to stream for free on the club’s YouTube channel.
The final-four tie kicks-off at 2pm at Sparrows Lane, with 2023/24 Valley Gold members able to attend.
The young Addicks have got this far by winning the PDL2-South and this weekend's victors goes will play either Birmingham City or Bristol City in the showpiece final.
Saturday's fixture is a repeat of last year's PDL2 final, but Lead Coach Jason Pearce insists his side will treat the match like any other.
It may well provide an opportunity for two of the academy’s top strikers to add to an already impressive goal tally this season - Patrick Casey and Micah Mbick have each netted 42 times the season.
The issue, so I was told, was that this was an unscheduled game so no external specialists ie camera operator and replay operator, could be booked well in advance.
With the season over some of the potential operators were either on holiday or working on other sports or the remaining football.
This was made worse as the game is on a Saturday, when there is a lot of other sport going on, unlike most of the streamed U21 games which are midweek afternoons.
But behind the scenes steps were being taken to find those staff, as said on here a few days ago, and that has now been confirmed on the OS.
Not ideal and there is always room for improvement but it seems the accusations that the club didn't care were, if you take what they are saying at face value, wide of the mark.
Like @Crusty54 I'd like to see a lot more coverage of the U18s both on streams and on social media but there are limitations due to the number of staff in the comms team especially on weekends when the focus is quite rightly on the men's and women's first teams.
However, the club knew that our lads would top their league in plenty of time to get this semi final organised. It was hardly a complete surprise.
Better to be proactive as opposed to be reactive, plan ahead etc etc.
And to "come up with the goods" after fans have raised the issue isn't exactly a good look by the Comms Team. Power to the People !
This confirms my feeling, along with others, that the U21s & U18s matches are considered small fry, whilst our monthly VG payments to support the Academy are welcomed with open arms.
We shall be watching on Saturday & cheering on our lads in the hope that they reach the Final.
Whenever & wherever that might be staged, we'd do our best to be there. End of.
Oh, still nothing from the Charlton TV guys regarding our £7 subscription for May which was totally wasted by the failure to stream the U21 match v P'Boro on Monday.

Saturday.
Ooops ! Now corrected. Shows how eager I am....
Just to say, I've been in touch with Tom R regarding Monday's U21 match and he has apologised saying it was a one off & will not happen again.
And as there were no other matches in May to watch on stream, my £7 has been refunded.

Glad to hear it.
The club is far from perfect and they make mistakes but it's worth speaking to them and raising issues.
It is certainly more productive than what some, not you Fanny, do which is just whinge while seemingly taking more pleasure in their whinging than in finding a solution.

I decided to come along to this and it’s the first time I’ve seen Mbick this close up….hes a bit of a unit! You can see why he bullies defenders but in fairness his ball striking technique is very decent. He’s put some absolutely glorious finishes in in the warm up
his and Casey will be battling to finish top scorer and I hope they work together today as opposed to trying to outdo each other..,, Obviously, if they both get a Hatrick, so I won’t really care
