Buyens, Mendonca and Reid.

Morts could take a decent penalty. No idea what his stats were but he was pretty good.1
-
Bob Curtis and Clive Mendonca.

Remember him hitting the post against Derby after sending the keeper the wrong way - and the bloke next to me was up in arms shouting - “but that was the perfect penalty!”ShootersHillGuru said:Morts could take a decent penalty. No idea what his stats were but he was pretty good.

Unfortunately Morts record is somewhat blemished by the missed penalty at home to Forest in 1998/99, that probably cost us our place in the PL, as it would have given us five wins on the spin.ShootersHillGuru said:Morts could take a decent penalty. Only one way to answer this debate....anybody have the STATS of the penalties each taken, scored, missed?
I might have some free time at work on Friday!1 -
Thought that was Redfearn?Kenny Achampong said:

The only one I saw that rivalled his legendary effort v Newcastle was Konchesky at Upton Park, at least there was a stand behind the goal to stop that one. Maddens one has just passed Neptune on its way to Pluto.1 -

Mark Reid scored 8 penalties in a season,15 goals in his Charlton career, not sure of how many penalties.
No record of missed penalties, although i remember both players missed at least one, against Preston [Curtis] Palace [Reid]0 -
I think Redfearn might have been against Blackburn? I know both him and Mortimer missed penalties that season. Redfearn’s was a double whammy for me as I had £20 on him as first goal scorer.DamoNorthStand said:

Redfearns was against forest, sure Mark Crossley was in goal and saved it.

You are right. Who did Mortimer miss against? I think he hit the post.Chippycafc said:Redfearns was against forest, sure Mark Crossley was in goal and saved it.
Edit - it was against Leeds0 -
Forget just Charlton, I think Buyens is one of the best ever, never even saw the keeper go the right way when he took them0
