    5 or 6-0
I am relying on my pathetic prediction skills to save us though!
  • How many minutes will it take Stroud to send Bow to the stand?
  • 3-0
    A big Charlton win!

Fulham seems to be a bit of a bogey team for us.

I'd be ecstatic with a point.
Last time I saw us beat Fulham I think Ray Treacy scored twice!

  • First time I’m fearing a spanking since Blackburn away on opening day.

I’ll go 2-1 Fulham because it’s rare that a Bowyer side loses by more than one goal.

Solly will start. Hemed is injured. But Pratley at left wing back?! 😅
  • I'd go:

    Phillips - Amos
    Solly - Pearce - Lockyer - Sarr - Deji - Matthew's
    Pratley - Field - Gallagher.

    Hopefully grind out a draw.
You’d drop Cullen? Can’t say I’d be happy with that!
  • As long as we do better than the spanners did there, I'll be alright with it
  • Nine goal thriller

I am not sure that Hamed will still be injured and would prefer Chucks, but he apparently is.
Fully take your point on Pratley, but I was looking at it more as a defensive unit and Pratley could drop into centre back if Sarr covers left back. One could of course play Solly right back and Oshilaja left, but I have never seen Oshilaja on the left so have no clue how good he would be.
I would still like to see 3 at the back - at least 1st half.

Hemed is injured, there’s no doubt about that, and won’t be back until after the international break. So long as he doesn’t go away with Israel, it’ll be fine. Same with Kayal. Hopefully we will have them both, Lapslie, and Purrington all back for Derby at home on 19th.

If you’re unsure on Pratley as left wing back and unsure on Oshilaja about being left back, play Solly at left wing back with Oshilaja at right wing back. I’d also be very surprised to see Pearce and Sarr start together, even in a back 3/5. If Matthews is physically okay enough to play, I think Bowyer will start him. But Solly plays, regardless.

But Solly is just OK going forward on the right, so I would not play him on the left unless they play with a winger that likes to cut in. Oshilaja is also the most rested of them all and Sarr has played left back for us quite often so backs up that position.

Actually I will leave it to Bows. Not easy the management lark!

With the option of Solly, Oshilaja, and Matthews, I highly doubt Bowyer will be considering playing Sarr at left back. Fulham do play with inverted wingers, Knockaert, who is left footed, often plays out wide right, with Cavalerio, who is right footed, out wide left. They sometimes play Bobby Reid out on the left, who also is right footed. It would actually suit us to have a right footed player at left back in some ways.

    I am expecting a back 3/5 though, 100%.
  • Our first recorded game at Fulham was in the old Third Division (South) in 1929. We won 5-2.  Just saying.

90th anniversary present coming up perhaps?

Think we could actually see Pratley move into the central of defence as it will also allow us to push him into midfield if needed during the game. Unsure whether Matthews will be okay enough to play again on Saturday, but if not, Oshilaja to come in for him. At some point Cullen and Gallagher are going to need a rest, both of them and Lockyer have not had the chance really to be rested. Hopefully when Kayal is fit, we will be able to rotate the middle two in midfield a bit more. Think it would be harsh to drop Bonne, but can I really see him playing three 90 minutes in a week? That's a tough ask.

Unforunately, with now having 6 players out injured, having a whole day less to prepare and rest, and Fulham's ridiculous squad for this level, I think it's going to be too much for us on Saturday.

    Phillips
    Lockyer Pratley Sarr
    Matthews Cullen Gallagher Solly
    Aneke Williams
    Leko

Amos, Pearce, Oshilaja, Field, Forster-Caskey, Oztumer, Bonne

    Fulham 2-0 Charlton Athletic
Think Matthews has played LB more and more adequately across his career than Solly (though I actually felt that Solly did alright at LB last season). I would give JFC a start ahead of Gallagher, think he needs a rest. Agree with the rest.
  • Uncomfortable 4-0 defeat.

At least I can say I've actually seen us win at CC......was there in 1986. Remember singing "Alan Ball has fucked it up again" as our promotion rivals Pompey had lost that night. A bit of agro too as we exited Embankment tube station....
  • Must be a good chance Solly will be left back.
  • 2-0 to the Addicks with no nonsense goals from each of the two full backs...
  • 5-0 Fulham and we have no shots on target.
  • 3-0 Fulham

    even Parker scores.

Matthews can play left back and has so quite well during his career. However, Solly is the better and more solid defender, so I think he can deal with Knockaert better than Matthews probably will. I do agree Gallagher needs a rest, he has played so much for a 19 year old in his first experience of senior football. Just feel with his tenacity, application, and attitude, I can’t see Bowyer not playing him against a Fulham side who will have the majority of the ball.
