There are a couple of shows on at the moment that I've been enjoying. BBC doing an hour long Top of the Pops show on various individual years. Then Channel 5 are running through the biggest songs of the 80s year by year. Been some brilliant songs that I'd completely forgotten about and a couple of guilty pleasures from this;

Why would Geno be guilty pleasure, it's a classic.

I mentioned when the thread originally appeared that people were including things that were not "guilty pleasures" at all. Might not be to your normal taste (mine would be "Would I Lie to You" - Charles and Eddie.) but it's not "Agadoo"...
As has been pointed out earlier in this thread by Mr Thundercock music shouldn’t be defined as a guilty pleasure. Music connects on an emotional level and if you like a song then you like it. It doesn’t matter if some think it’s not ‘cool’ or it’s cheese. Music snobs piss me off and they should get off their high horses.
Wham - Club Tropicana The Village People - YMCA Chesney Hawkes - The One and Only Taylor Swift - Shake It Off.
Bona fide classics indeed.
YMCA is truly dreadful and therefore a real guilty pleasure. It doesn’t matter if it’s a guilty pleasure for half the world’s population, it’s still a guilty pleasure.

But sometimes the guilt is related to the source. For example, being totally against the X Factor, everything it stands for and how it manufactures musicians/groups, but enjoying a song from an artist who was on it - that’s a guilty pleasure.
I once worked with a born-again Christian and he had to pretend he didn’t like David Bowie any more. I couldn’t stand him so I didn’t pursue it. He was also always saying that people were making a point of coming only to him and making the sign of Satan.
