I'm sorry but Page is an absolute waste of squad space, literally stealing a living for the last 2 years
Really hate that phrase.
He's injured. He's not injured himself on purpose nor is he pulling a sickie to avoid playing. How is he "stealing" anything?
It's bad luck for him and us. We took a risk on offering him a new deal and it hasn't worked out yet and doesn't look like it will. I doubt he's very happy about it. More likely depressed and worried that his career could be over.
Didn't the exact same thing happen around this time last season?
Had the usual knocks and strains but then a couple of freak injuries in top?
Was slightly later last season but yeah we lost Aribo, Cullen, Bielik and I think another CM all at once. Did allow Morgan to come in and impress in the game against Sunderland etc.

100% this as well. Does my head in when people say things about a player who has gone through what Page has gone through. People have no idea how that impacts him psychologically.
Imagine something consistently stopping you from doing your job or something you love doing and each time you think you’re there, something happens which can be of no fault of your own. What would that do to your state of mind? But it’s alright because you’re still being paid. Come on now, it’s not the case at all. He has had it tough and he’s still so young, I wish him all the best and hope he proves many people wrong and gets back in the team soon and does well.

Exactly this... We took a chance on him knowing it was a risk, a calculated gamble. It's not paid off so far. He is back training and by the sound of it has been focused on coming back fitter and stronger. Hopefully means he is more resilient on his return.
A good defender when fit and we chose to renew him with that in mind.

As an injury prone runner & casual footballer, I use these two activities combined with some weight volume training to really better my mental health. The dopamine release caused by physical activity is so beneficial to that mental state.
Having recently been out for almost 3 months, (first big injury in 2 years!) I can somewhat empathise with his situation. It's hard to keep in shape when you can't train which messes with you mentally as you can see and feel your body changing for the worse. Then you know the road back gets further the longer you're out for.
Personally I found the only thing I could do to keep some level of fitness was lift weights, which means you gain weight, muscle weight but weight which means your running fitness suffers at first when you come back, which mentally makes you doubt whether you can get back fit though over time that additional muscle mass can help with increased pace for sprints and physicality to hold your own against bigger players.
It's hard work for me to do that outside of work, imagine having the added stress and pressure of it being your job on the line too...
Only thing he's stealing is my respect for not jacking it in after such a horrid time, but I suspect that is more down to his lack of available other options than anything else.
As per Bowyer's last comments about Page - I'll be shocked if this isnt his last season with us... Was mentioned that Lewis had to reach a certain amount of games to trigger an extension this summer, by the sounds of things, thats already unachieveable
Bowyer said there was a chance of him making the squad last night - Has played a "behind closed doors" match for West Brom so bet he'll be in contention for Barnsley or Stoke
Got sacked because someone found out he was related to Gunter and had been miss treating our left back & centre halves just so Gunter could get into the team.

Not just a good chair shifter : - )
Get um on some Speed quick and it might perk them up for Saturday.

Used to see him regularly when we were at SL sorting the Memorial Garden.
Not sure if he was fully qualified then or completing his training.

*I might have made some of that up....😄
Innis
Lavelle
Leko
Mathews
Souare
Arter
Stockley
And maybe now Pearce
Henderson wasn't on the bench yesterday either and JFC, while not in the squad, is also still out.
Charlton Athletic injury news – Leko set to be available

If Stockley features - he might benefit from a half - we could have a much older team than the one against Leyton Orient
