I'm just relieved this important thread hasn't been reduced to puerile puns about parrots and other birds.
Don’t you know it, there’s some tits on here! 😉

Don't get yourself in a flap,
    It's a Sunday it's pouring of rain, and I didn't mention fish.

Grumpy have you any heard any rumours ? Football concerning rumours if possible ?

    So we’ve been linked with:
    Idah
    Parrot
    Kean
    Pogba
    Maddison
    Mowatt
    Gnanduillet
    Clarke

From that list I would like Parrot, Pogba, Maddison and Mowatt. I think we’ll end up with Idah, Pogba, Maddison and someone who hasn’t been mentioned.
Also linked to Doherty and Chirivella.
  • We can't get Troy Parrot that will mean we will have Green Parrot playing together.
We'll probably end up with John Parrot.

Chirivella starts for Liverpool at Shrewsbury. Redhenry mentioned his name a week or so ago.

You justknow  no one on that list will arrive and it will be some obscure josh Parker signing right on the last minute or Jo dodo, or does that only happen when duchalet hangs out to the very last moments and we miss all of our main targets.

Even just based on that Everton game and on the last 20 mins I would love that Chirivella rumour to be true. He looks absolute class!

Not watching the game but apparently his pass to assist Liverpools first goal was very good.

Guess the issue is that if Liverpool run away with the Premier League, Klopp can afford to rotate his team which may give Chirivella a chance.

Depends how much Klopp wants to go unbeaten I suppose.

26 days in and until we make a permanent signing we have no yardstick to see if we have moved on from being the 24th Budget in the Championship.
    Quite surreal in many ways.
Lovely words and Matt's coming across as a great guy but...

Chirivella looks like he’s got some quality about him. Definite flair and creativity.

Even if he doesn’t come on loan this window, his contract is up in the summer.

At 22, Pedro Chirivella may have reached the end of his Liverpool career after joining 7 years ago from Valencia.
May not be as robust as Gallagher but his Spanish pedigree means he can pass the ball as shown with the assist to Jones.
    A potential loan ?

Why does that  crap sports website keep linking
    Lyle Taylor with Brentford.
Charlton is and always will be a bigger club than Brentford and ESI should offer Taylor a good offer and keep him here.
Lee Bowyer I will guarantee will think the same.
Lyle is a proven striker at this club and ESI know this.......

Was that an official link you put up ?
I thought it was just a random punter.  I  saw Gary mention it and thought it might be a good shout.

Redhenry (decent track record) mentioned his name on here a week or so back.

Except Brentford play some of the best football in this league and have a very good chance of getting promoted into the Premier League.

It's nothing to do with who is the 'bigger' club. I doubt we will get relegated but who in their right mind, especially at the back end of their career, would risk playing in League One, when they have the chance to potentially play in the premiership?

Liverpool will probably want to keep Chirivilla to play in the replay now.

Only saw the second half and that Josh Laurent really caught the eye.

24 years old and out of contract at the end of the season.

    referring to Lyle Taylor ?

well I doubt we will be in league One under BOWS
Or ESI and yes Brentford are a great team and we beat them 1-0 with a strong squad, so why can we not do that again next season ?
we too could be in the premiership in 2 years.

another Negative Charlton Fan with little faith 👎

The Internet is a very unusual place sometimes.

I won't have expected you to have read all of my posts, though you could have at least read my original post here were I specifically state 'I doubt we will get relegated'. Furthmore if you have seen my other post you would see I am anything but negative. In fact, I have gone on record on this very forum saying that I believe we will still finish top half of the championship.

I was simply stating that just because Charlton are a 'bigger' club than Brentford does not mean Lyle is going to stay here, or indeed we are going to offer him better money than Brentford will.

'Another Charlton fan who cannot see football transfer in the wider context in which they happen  *can't find the thumbs down emoji on my phone*.

We are a bigger club then some Prem teams but you wouldn’t expect our players to turn them down would you?

Beating Brentford was a long time ago now and a lots happened since. They have a decent shot at being a Prem club next year, they are a reasonably attractive proposition for a lot of Champ players.
