    RIP.

Good write up about his time with us in the new Valley Heroes book.

I knew he had played for us but hadn't realised he was top scorer for a couple of seasons in the 60's.

RIP Ron remember him well very good player.
  • Watched Ron Saunders play for Charlton and then he followed me to Norwich.
He changed Norwich city from the second division also ran,s to a first division side.
He was a fitness fanatic who trained the team on the one and only hill in Norwich.
    Good bloke.

I remember him playing for us. Arguably past his peak by the time we got him but still scored his share of goals for what was mostly a struggling side.

His managerial record was up there with the best of his era.

Saw him make his debut when we signed him from Watford not the tallest number nine but an old school Centre Forward who knew where the net was, RIP Ron.

    RIP
  • As others have said, he saved us from relegation and although at the end of his career you could see what a good player he had been.  @Davo55 summed it up 'Hard as Nails'.

    RIP Ron
  • Dour and rather scary in my young eyes.
When I finally plucked up the courage to run onto the pitch with my mates I, rather enthusiastically, slapped the back of my hero Ron who turned and said "fuck off son"
Well, I wouldn't fuck off for anybody else uncle Ron  ;)
    RIP
  • They didn't come any harder in those days. Saunder is the king. RIP Ron. Many great memories.
