Phillips: 7 - cant fault him for the goals and he made a great save in the opening 30 seconds.
Lockyer: 5- got wrong side of his man a couple of times but apart from that was ok, though could of done better with the second goal especially after his dreadful clearance.
Pratley: 5 - slow. gave the ball away too many times
Sarr: 5 - made two last ditch blocks but gave the ball away for the goal. yet again he was our playmaker. whenever this seems to happen we know it means we are going to be ponderous in attack. not his fault as such as he takes on the responsibility but it should be a midfielder doing it.
    Solly: 4
Oshilaja: 4.5 - too far forward.
Morgan: 5.5 - should come back for the ball more like he did in the last 10mins. needs to improve his defending though he did make two important last ditch challenges.
Gallagher: 5.5 stamped and booted throughout. found it difficult but little help from anyone else around him.
    Purrington: 4.5
Doughty: 5 couple of runs but not many chances to run at their fullback.
    Bonne: 4.5 no support
Taylor: 5.5 held the ball up well. Should of helped out better for the second goal.
    Davison: 4
Referee: 5 - got two out of three big decisions right. Gave 50/50s to them.

Gallagher:   7.5. Got kicked off the park but still kept going
Purrington:   5. Made one great tackle.

    Taylor:   6.
    Davison:  5

    Dempsey: n/a

  • Why does Dempsey not get a mark? - He came on at the same time as Davison?
according to the Press Association Davison came on in the 69th minute and Dempsey came on 2nd in the 70th minute with the game finishing in the 99th minute so Dempsey completed 29 minutes. - bit like VAR really!!!
Good old PA again. If they said that Lord Lucan scored the penalty you'd believe them.

They both came on at the same time.  A double substitution.

    Oshilaja: 5.5

    Purrington: 5
    Doughty: 5
    Bonne: 5
Taylor: 6.5 Couple of good bits of link up and nice penalty
    Davison: 5

Referee: 5 Got one red right but though he listened to the Derby players far too much
  • Phillips: 7 - not that much to do apart from the save in the first 30 seconds but very assured
    Lockyer: 6 - ok
Pratley: 6- tried hard. Heading for a 2 match suspension
Sarr: 5 - a cult figure but the brutal truth is that his defensive abilities are not at Championship level
    Solly: 4 - laboured
Oshilaja: 4.5 - unable to influence the game
Morgan: 4 - a bad night for Albie. It happens with very young players
Gallagher: 6.5 - tried to get things moving but was repeatedly targeted for a kicking
    Purrington: 4 - struggled
Doughty: 4 - nothing came off tonight
Bonne: 5 - ploughed a lonely furrow with no service
Taylor: 6.5 - introduced some decent hold up play but lacked support
Davison: 4 - like a good few of our players, looked out of his depth

  • On Sky:

Phillips: 8 - kept us in it with a couple of great saves, no chance with the goals
    Lockyer: 7 - solid
Pratley: 6.5 - looked off the pace this time
Sarr: 7.5 - the only defender playing forward passes, tried hard and got himself forward on several occasions
Solly:  2 - very poor, at fault for the first goal and every time he got the ball looked to play it backwards.
Oshilaja: 7 - tried hard, mostly solid.
Morgan: 7 - seemed to be following instructions to play a withdrawn role.  His ability to play a killer pass was used at the end where he was our deepest player in injury time trying to pinpoint the long balls up front.
Gallagher: 8 - targeted by Derby, tried hard but nothing really came off, the only time he ran into the box, we got a penalty
Purrington: 6 - tried hard but not really good enough as a wing back
Doughty: 6.5 - looked young and inexperienced which is what he is, never got the chance to use his pace
Bonne: 7.5 - worked hard, feeding off scraps, unlucky to be injured
Taylor: 7.5 - tried hard to make something happen, coolly taken penalty
Davison: 3 - didn’t do anything when he came on bar give away fouls, yet to show whether he has anything to offer at this level
Referee: 7 got most things right.

    Dempsey: n/a

Phillips: 7.5 - Another good game.
Lockyer: 6 - Won a few headers but not his best game.
Pratley: 6 - Silly booking...possibly lucky not to get a 2nd yellow for handball. Plenty of effort but not his sort of game.
Sarr: 6.5 - One of very few players prepared to pass the ball forward. Often had to wait for players to move ahead of him.
Solly:  4 - Looked very poor until quite late on. Not fit enough or quick enough to play regularly....and that in turn, takes off his edge.
Oshilaja: 5.5 - Just about ok but very limited. Perhaps should have been moved to RB 2nd half instead of Solly.
Morgan: 5.5 - Did get into the game late on but was absent for a lot of the 1st half.
Gallagher: 6.5 - Didn't hide. Played on despite blood pissing out of his ankle. Bielik should apologise to him....that challenge was out of line.
Purrington: 4.5 - Struggled to make any impact.
Doughty: 5 - Had the ball a lot but made no impact. His crossing was bad.
Bonne: 5 - Feeding on scraps but his touch wasn't as good as usual. Should've come off when he pulled his hamstring. He's probably never done it before so perhaps thought it was cramp. Why didn't the physio insist on coming on to see him? He'll have have made it quite a bit worse by running on it.
Taylor: 5.5 - Feeding on scraps and the odd nice touch but didn't look like winning anything in the penalty area.
Davison: 3 - As cameos go, this was a poor one.
Referee: 7 - Thought he was good. He could've easily got carried away and got suckered into booking Gallagher much earlier. Shame he didn't have a good angle on the Wisdom challenge.

Dempsey: n/a - Good shot but the wrong man for the occasion.

Not trying to knock you as you do an excellent job, but even if the clock ticked over from 69 to 70 mins its pretty obvious that they both came on at the same time, ie there was a break in play & the game re-started when they were both on the pitch. Therefore they both played exactly the same amount of time
