Bit like Thursday, we've shown a lot of effort, there is just isnt the experience compared to West Brom's players
Best thing that can come out of today is for Williams / Hemed to come on with 20-mins to go
None of the kids showing they can step up for me so far, although it is a bit harsh as in a normal team (not blighted by injuries) you'd expect them to come in surrounded by senior players who can guide them through a match rather than it being a pure U23 team
Oshilaja been our best player; Green hasnt got involved enough
Watching On the stream kindly given in the thread ..
not too sure what I expected from today’s game given how many inexperienced players are fielded however - some thoughts at half time
- very disappointing that we are sticking with the ‘tactic’ of lumping it forward and playing long balls to the lone striker... lad up front trying his hardest to get onto it but alone he can’t do much
- Sarr looking more and more out of his depth with the ball at his feet, even when surrounded by u23s!
- midfield lacks an idea and continues to lump it forward rather than get it in the deck and play its way forward ... maybe Williams coming in may change that?
- Stevenson at left back looks uncomfortable and not confident
- Andre green looks good and direct but he’s having very little time in the ball and very little support arround him when he does!
BBC WM said that WBA are playing their 2nd string against Charlton‘s 2nd string. I think they’ve overestimated Charlton as we are playing our Junior Reds team.
Oh how I wish our second string included Gareth Barry, Chris Brunt and Charlie Austin...
Take off that Odoh who’s been a passenger so far (a brick wall would have a better first touch and more movement) and bring on Williams. The rest don’t look that bad but need a bit more urgency and realisation they need to make the most of the chance to show what they can do.
Comments
