Pretty good considering how empty the away end was.
Not really.
We have 10k season ticket holders so we should easily have shifted 10k more, aside from any tickets paid for. Plus the 1200 Barnsley 'sold'.
Attendance against west Brom was 19720 including 3000 away fans, so that's a improvement of around 1700 new/extra home fans for the free tickets offer, as youd expect a fair few that got free tickets would probably attend anyway.

It was Charlton v Barnsley in a Championship relegation scrap. Ticket give away went better than I thought it would.
If it had been Charlton v Barnsley in a Premier League relegation scrap, then we might have hit the 10,000 but even then, I'm not so sure.
I take it you meant 20,000? If it was a Premier League match then I'm positive that the attendance would exceed 20,000, as our lowest attendance in 2006/7 was 23,423 against Blackburn on a Tuesday evening.

I was referring to the suggestion that we ought to have shifted 10,000 free tickets for yesterdays game.
Well, I've done my bit - young receptionist at Greenwich Novotel saw us on way to "stadium" so we got chatting and he has now bought two tix for him and a mate for Blackburn.

Not one of my "mates" offered me a free ticket. Thanks chaps.

I think the Blackburn crowd will be higher than yesterday's.

Hopefully they will return....
