Early days still, but not convinced. I didn’t expect there to be question marks about full ownership at this stage nor a lack of signings. Given our history, it’s no surprise people are wary. Probably way off track here but I can’t help thinking of the Mark Hulyer takeover.

Southall talks about League one not messing up gulf investment opportunities, so chuffing what, the energy it took to get up was massive, the club is where in needs to be, INVEST you're supposed to be chuffing billionaires...
It's a weird deal that's happened, no one wants to spend, the squad is decimated, looks like a painful death on the horizon, just when we thought, for ONCE we had hit a spot of safety and security.
I'll judge on Feb 1st, but so far I don't like this at all.

Oh dear here we go again. We will end up panic buying on the 31st like we always do with sub standard players. The fact is you have to pay over the odds to get players in now its that simple. Looks like we're still trying to get players on the cheap even with money men behind us. Until LB signs players will not commit. Whats the problem with his contract. 2 weeks it's been on offer! I have big concerns over ESI.

A multi billionaire takes over the club, doesn't buy The Valley or SL, can't/won't give LB a contract that he wants to sign & transfer wise seems to be operating under the Belgians budget. What's going on, no wonder there's been people casting doubt over ESI ever since it was announced.

Someone from Dinamo contacted Romanian Ambassador from EAU and he said that Nimer is just an employee. Ok he’s not the janitor , but he’s not a billionaire. He works for the Royal House.

I’ve always been sceptical of slick PR as, in my personal experience, the polish generally masks the smell of bullshit. I’ve therefore only been cautiously welcoming of Southall’s apparently open and inclusive approach. Yes it’s a world away from Duchatelet’s combination of invisibility with occasional bouts of la la land outbursts. Matt comes across as a dapper, articulate and well intentioned sort of chap. However, in terms of substance it’s been a “null points” from me. The smell of polish is wearing off. Moreover, the revelation that “ownership” as any normal Joe or Jane would understand it of Charlton Athletic and it’s assets remains at best an aspiration, albeit with some unspecified contractual obligation attached, is worrying. The time lapse since Bowyers public arm wrestle over his contract is also a cause for concern albeit one assuaged slightly by the news that it may be simply a case of Lee waiting for his mates to agree terms too. The lack, bar Green, of any incomings at this time of acute need may be at least partly explained by Bowyer’s contract situation but a glance at one of our relegation rivals, Huddersfield, shows that they have already strengthened in four key positions without, I’ll wager, having broken the bank to do it.
In all of this, and though I feel myself cringing as I write this, we should take a modicum of reassurance that the EFL’s fit and proper test was thorough and delved into aspects that for us are simply matters of conjecture. it may we’ll be that we’ll look back and laugh. But I have to say that at the moment I’m concerned that this may all be a false dawn. I remain hopeful as it’s early days but if we are in the same position in a couple of weeks my glass will definitely be half empty.
That is the way I see it. I never thought I would say this, but my remaining hope lies with the EFL taking their time and eventually sanctioning the deal.
One thing I do know from some of my carefully selected insiders is that Sue Parkes likes ESI. One thing I have learnt is if Sue is happy then so should we be. She is a great judge of character, Just ask Tony and Katrien.

The only other rational reason I can think of for bringing it forward has very uncomfortable implications, reminding me of boatloads of rubber (you gotta be over 50 to know what I'm talking about there). But I am pretty sure there has to be a better explanation, anybody know?

To achieve their goal they have to achieve mine IE a successful club playing in the premier league.
If that is their exit strategy they all good.
The question is do they have the plan, the money and the management skills to make that happen. No saying they don't as it's far too early to judge.
