How sad, but a great innings, grew up with him on 'Sale of the Century' and latterly 'Just a Minute'. A really decent guy, RIP Nicholas.

Oh that's really sad. Not a bad innings whatsoever though - RIP.
  • Still with it and witty to the end, very impressive for 96.

    RIP.

96 is some innings, and he was working pretty much the whole of his adult life. Amazing. RIP, and great respect.

"And now from Norwich....it's the quiz of the week......"

Plus Peter Fenn on the organ.

Back in the late 70's into the early 80's, I would spend Saturday mornings being coached at Finchley Cricket School. Nicholas Parsons used to have the net before me at 9am. He was enthusiastic but not much cop....and I used to think he was improperly dressed because he wore a white Fred Perry instead of a cricket shirt. Funny the things you remember....

That aside, he was an excellent broadcaster and a great servant to the Lords Taverners.

RIP, when I hear people say their 'From Norwich' in my head I always think 'its the quiz of the week'.

He is the voice of Dr Johnsons Cat on the talking statue in Gough Square.

Saw him a few years ago now at a recording of Just A Minute, he would have been in his late eighties I think but so sharp and funny. RIP.
