Did two solo runs which alleviated the pressure from us but his decision making needs to improve. Pratley: 8 Warrior. Cullen: 7.5 Tidy, makes us tick. Williams: 8 Whenever he’s on the pitch he makes us look like a threat. No coincidence we were on the back foot when he came off. Green: 8.5 MOTM Class performance given his personal circumstances. Worked hard and deserved his goal. An improvement on Leko. Taylor: 8 See Williams. So glad we kept him. Forster-Caskey: 6 At fault for their goal but made up for it with that clearance off the line. Phillip: 8 - a magnificent first half save and an exhibition of time wasting that would make even Ben Hamer blush. Along with Pratters, his consistently high level performances make him a candidate for the POTY so far and he is soon going to attract Premier League attention, if he is not doing so already Matthews: 8 - the best I've seen him play. It also looks as if we've been practising our throw-ons at Sparrows Lane, although having Lyle Taylor back probably helps, given his impact on the opposition Lockyer: 6.5 - solid Pearce: 7 - a better performance than of late. Defended the box well and will be important in some of the tough away games coming up Sarr: 6.5 - did pretty well Doughty: 7 - raw talent and pace, with some electrifying bursts down the line. Put in a few good inswinging corners in the first half Pratley: 7 - worked his socks off as usual Cullen: 6.5 - looked a little leggy towards the end, which is to be expected after a couple of months out. I think that adrenaline often gets players through their first match back (in Josh's case, his excellent performance against Fulham) and it is good to get another 90 minutes into him. Such an important player Williams: 7 - an outstanding ball carrier who gives us another dimension to our attacking play Green: 7 - still adapting to playing more centrally, rather than out wide, but he is sharp, clever and has good pace. Another goal will do him the world of good Taylor: 7.5 - he brings so much to the team at all levels. Defends superbly from the front and scored a classic poacher's goal. We have to pray that he stays fit, as our survival may well depend upon it Forster-Caskey: 5 - off the pace, although his clearance off the line saved our bacon in the second half Hemed: 5 - he had very little service in the last half hour of the game but he is slow and offers very little, in my view Referee: 6 - let too much go in the first half but not bad overall

Pearce: 7.5 - Did ok and helped set up both goals. Sarr: 6.5 - Did ok. Doughty: 6.5 - Some good runs but a dismal free-kick. Got caught at the back a few times but tried hard. Pratley: 8 - Worked very hard to nullify Barnsley. Cullen: 6.5 - Not his best but still ok. He'll be better for that game. Williams: 7 - Does go to ground far too easily. Yes he's fouled some of the time. Much better team with him in it and his energy is infectious. Green: 7 - Thought he was out of the game until his well taken goal. Did some good things 2nd half and should develop nicely. Taylor; 7.5 - Pretty sharp performance. Well taken goal (bet VAR would've had him as off-side). As with Williams, we are a much better side with him in it. Loved his defending too. Forster-Caskey: 6 - Wasn't completely out of it like some have suggested. Bit harsh to blame him for the goal when he lost it on the edge of the Barnsley area. Hemed - 6 Did ok with almost no service. One good burst into the box with no support, one decent clearing header from a corner and a lovely hooked ball to the left wing. Will be a good partner for Taylor. Referee: 5.5 - He looked like an old fashioned "homer" to me (apart from the 2nd yellow for the Barnsley centre-back).
