I was a regular on Saturday mornings watching what we called back then the youth team. I used to ring in reports on a Sunday on the Mark Mansfield/Clive R radio show. I clearly remember Paul, outstanding at that level and I used to wax lyrical about him a lot. I was delighted to see him progress to the first team. In terms of our club you could say Paul Linger represents the epitome of what we’re about in our corner of London. Developing talent has always been our strength. A class person, a classy unruffled player, it is tragic he is gone so young, condolences to all of Paul’s family and friends. Many of us have fond memories of you Paul. RIP.
