  • Love Dodegball, watched it with my son fairly recently and still funny.

se7en though I remember seeing at the cinema and nearly breaking my car accelerating at speed over a canal bridge with my friends in the back. It was really effective and affecting. Great film.
Not as much as Silence of the Lambs the first time I saw that.  I was in Paris on work, came out of the cinema and immediately looked for a taxi, there was no way I was walking back to the hotel.

Considering every day feels like a bank holiday at the moment I had to include some Bond at some stage !
  • I am going through a 'Joaquin Phoenix Stage' .. got a few of his on DVD .. watched 'The Master' with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams .. next up will be 'Inherent Vice' followed by 'The Sisters Brothers' (though I did not enjoy the book) and then 'Joker'

  • @Bedsaddick just catching up missed ‘this sporting life’ shame, need to watch this. Likewise ‘the sisters brothers’ @Lincsaddick, although I enjoyed the book (am a fan of DeWitt)
  • Inception is a good film. Think I will choose that tonight
  • Bo Rap and Cape Fear are great choices

Not films but I am enjoying catching up with The Time Tunnel on the Horror channel. I think they are showing quite a few today back to back which are worth a record if like me you like a bit of sci-fi nostalgia.

    Sky 317 Virgin 149 Freeview 70 Freesat 13
  • From yesterday, Harry Brown is a nasty little film. Got given it for free and that was too expensive.
  • Inception for me ... brilliant film

I do find that a few books I read and don't 'get', a lot depends on mood and circumstance, when and where I read it ..  dare say if this isolation lasts for longer than mid-summer, it's the type of book I'll reread after seeing the film perhaps

we agree on this one .. Caine must have needed the money .. I took my aged aunt to the cinema to see this .. BAD decision lol

Definitely not one for an aged aunt   :o
  • Layer Cake is another favourite

Really good, tight storyline and some excellent dialogue. Not to mention how well shot it is like all Matthew Vaughan/guy Ritchie films

The books by JJ Connolly layer cake and viva la madness are worth a read too

This Sporting Life is shown regularly on Talking Pictures .
  • Film 'Timbuktu' on BBC2 late tonight 00.20 .. was on a few months back .. involves the Islamic takeover of the city and a dispute over access to water rights (sort of) .. A subtitled slow burner that I really enjoyed .. won't be for everyone
  • Can’t recommend The Gift highly enough.

  • Inception is my favourite film

  • Few goodies there including Snatch, Josie Wales, and Out of the Furnace, but I’ll go for Skyfall ... never been a Bond fan but really like this one.
  • Rise of the Footsoldiier 4 Marbella . Only just watched the trailer. Essex gangsters in the south of Spain. Absolute cliche riven drivel. With the usual suspects playing the lead roles. Am I going to watch it? Downloading it now. Love a bit of London/Essex gangster porn.
