Got the Editors album, haven't really listened to it enough to say whether i like it or not, my brother saw Interpol live the other day, said it was pretty average.
Saw the Pigeon Detectives supporting Kaisers a while back down in Cardiff, no-one really knew them, but i thought they were quality.
Next album purchase is The Enemy's which comes out Monday, and i'll probably get Chemical Brother new one as well.
[cite]Posted By: Stu of SE7[/cite]Do tell! I can't think of another band beginning with m that would play support.
machine head!
Machine Head will be brilliant, their new album is probably their best ever along with Burn My Eyes.
[cite]Posted By: Stu of SE7[/cite]Found out about 2 new bands I'd never heard of last night, both pretty awesome although rather heavy, so not sure how many on here they would appeal too.
The Devil Wears Prada
&
Chevelle
Haven't heard much of The Devil Wears Prada, but I've liked what I've heard.
Other bands I've recently been listening to are :
All That Remains
I killed the prom queen
In This Moment
and when I'm feeling particularly noisy - Job For A Cowboy.
I work in the music industry and all I will say is that the major labels and the bigger indies have really focussed on new talent for the second half of their year's output. There always is new music of course, but they have all been working hard to develop some refreshing talent in the market.
My first gig at the O2 will be the Scissor Sisters in a few weeks time and out of interest who still buys CDs more than they download on here? I still like the shiny plastic retail therapy myself but know I'm a slowly dying breed!

Well i'm going to see Squeeze at the albany next week, bit weird because i originally saw them for the 1st time... you guessed it the old albany, this time round i'm paying 15 quid, 1st time round 50p? Better be worth it.
Been listening to the new Chemical Brothers album a bit, and if it weren't for the Klaxons saving their sorry arses on "All rights reversed", it'll be a stunningly sh*t album.
Interpol still disappoints, while Editors grows on me more and more, especially the title track.
Talk of Rufus Wainwright made me find some old Loudon Wainwright III stuff. I'd forgotten that Loudon did a song called "rufus is a tit man" about his baby son's like of his mother's breast. Ironic now but a nice song.
Not sure about Rufus's music. MAybe listening to the wrong stuff. Glad I re-discovered Loudon. Good stuff.
Girlfriend (not me!!!) went to see Justin Timberlake at the O2 last week and said was briallint. I know its newly done, BUT one thing to note if going to a gig there:
- They want £20 for car park (I dropped them off anyway) - Programs were £15 rather than usual £8-£10 for concerts/shows - The nightclub cost £25 to get in if you fancy it afterwards - The £55 seats are not good (gf blagged that one of her mates was scared of heights and they got moved to £145 seats free of charge!!)
Oh well, they accidently got a free round of drinks in the enclosed slug and lettuce bar and got better seats - nice to have a bit of luck for once.
Don't get me wrong, a lot of gigs are £££ these days, but the O2 really is pushing it - guess its the same as new Wembley!!
[cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]my brother is going to meet rufus tonight as he's going in to record a session at xfm with john kennedy.
he's going to get him to sign a b'day card for my mum as she's 60 in december. will get him to take pics and i'll post up tmrw/friday if poss
the bloke is a legend. art teacher is the most amazing song ever.
I'm trying to get into him but not getting it at the moment. I will persevere.
Great job your brothers got. I keep meaning to listen to him but I'm normally asleep when he's on. I'll have to ask my sister in law if she's seen John recently. They used to meet up once a month with all their old school mates.

The £45 standing tickets were suppose to be good.
AEG can get away with it though, they've got the best venue, one of the biggest gig promotion companies in the world, and pretty much bottomless pockets.

he doesnt work at xfm anymore. he left last week. however he always sits in on jk's wednesday show as they're mates and it gives him experience etc. he is also covering jk's 10 till 1 show for 2 weeks starting 30th july if you want to catch him then. after that, he and xfm are no more.
if you want to listen to him tho.......there is a new mika advert on the telly from next week, thats him speaking!!! LOL he'll love me for telling people that.

Not sure to be honest. Is it IT?
Interpol still disappoints, while Editors grows on me more and more, especially the title track.
have now also heard the white stripes, chem bros (i like the wille mason song and the last song on the album i think), and good shoes.
still can't get past candie payne on my mp3 player tho!

Drum n Bass is so broad and musical these days.
Hate all this grime and dubstep that all the hoodies listen to though!
Quite good of them in both cases - gf said it was also well organised.
The cost of entertainment is rising by the day it seems - cinemas, theme parks, hotels, concerts ..etc. Got to shop around on the net!
Richard Hawley (Coles Corner)
