It really does depend on how Bowyer intends to play as well. If we're sticking with the 4-3-3 then we have Doughty, Washington and Maddison and need another. I'm always nervous of listing players twice when we talk about squad depth, as that only works if you have hardly any injuries, which is never the case with us, so there's a lack of cover at the back. We're a bit better set up to stick with the diamond, but I get the feeling Bowyer wants to move past that a bit
The problem with 433 is it needs a very specific type of striker. One we currently don't have. Getting one AND a back up for them would be nearly impossible wouldn't it?
Plus we currently only have Maddison and Doughty for the wide positions.
If Bowyer is set on 433 it wouldn't surprise me if Williams or Oztumer went to make room for more compatible players.
Ali Koiki left back that on the website is a triallist with us and played for the U23's yesterday vs Millwall. Croydon lad that signed for Swindon and then went to Burnley. Yet according to wiki we have paid a compensation fee to burnley for him? Anybody see the u23 game yesterday, we beat the scum 1-0!
I think its been mentioned but Andre Green?? I feel like theres a player in there... just needs a couple of seasons in L1/Champ.
Thing is, we don't have "a couple of seasons" to get it right, we need people who are at least proven at league one, and even better championship. We must show progress relatively quickly

think he was on loan at Swindon from Burnley hence why we'd have to pay them a development fee. As a favour and seeing as they got Pope on the cheap, and JBG, perhaps they could loan us Vydra?
I think with Gunter signing Bowyer will rely on Oshilaja/Lapslie/Barker/Wiredu to cover that area as needed, and turn his attention to other parts of the pitch now. Koiki looks to be signing, but we do have Purrington, Doughty, Famewo and JFC who can play there so I'd put that lower on the list than a centre back and 2 strikers.
Amos Gunter Akin Pearce New LB Watson Gilbey Levitt Maddison New ST Doughty
Decent team with everybody fit (haha), Aneke i like but never fit. Washington not convinced so far and definitely need another CB.
I really can't see Famewo and Pearce playing together as they are both left footed.
After the last time LB paired two left central defenders together - Sarr and Pearce - it ended with Pearce having an awful game and LB saying he wouldn't want to do that again.
At this stage I'd take Hemed back as an option, feel like it was a confidence thing of him not putting chances away than necessarily being done as seemingly in the past he's been a good finisher and Maddison can probably put more crosses in for him. Hopefully we'd get one more main striker as well though
If he has moved to London, or still living in Brighton then presumably he'd be more willing to take a pay cut to stay fairly local
I see grant to West Brom is back on that will do us nicely 💷💷🙏
Wouldnt be surprised if we'd already come to an agreement to cash that in early to pay the bills August
Not ITK but seem to remember a quote, a while back, from Mihail where he was saying there were still assets available to cover costs in the coming months

Players will be signed as they become available, rather than from a fan's priority.
Whatever we think, Bowyer and Gallen will already have their wish list of players in all positions.
Some they'll get over the line quicker than others; some they'll lose out on and need to find a replacement. And perhaps occasionally a better player becomes available or more willing to accept a lower wage.
It's a fluid thing - while we're playing at Football Manager, they have to deal with actual reality.

Never thought Hemed was that bad tbh, not a world beater by any means but there were very few stand outs at the end of last season
Interestingly, Koiki played as a winger for the U23s the other day. He definitely is someone who can play all along that left hand side and is someone who is attacking, I can see him eventually signing but I don't think he is a big target for Bowyer. The compensation to Burnley shouldn't be a problem, it's whether we think we could sign someone better? I think he could sign at any time, but we surely are pushing hard on other targets and areas, specifically up front.
We really do need another centre back, left back would be good too.
Definitely need another two strikers as well.
For the midfield, it would be interesting to see whether we sign another central midfielder or someone who can play wider?
Now Bostock is a free agent, how likely is he to drop his wage demands to sign for us? A midfield three of Watson, Gilbey, and Bostock would be excellent for this level. Add in Williams, Levitt, and Forster-Caskey and that's strong without even considering other options.
The biggest target though has to be a striker and I am pretty sure they're getting close to signing one.
I wouldn’t of thought the RCB we need would be hard to find. CB’s usually on lower money than strikers etc? Someone of the calibre of Lockyer would be fine, plenty of experience at this level, can do the basics well etc.

We do need stability as well. Doughty still not signed up.

I agree with this, except I think we need an absolute ball winner in midfield to break up the play and a very physical presence. I have huge admiration for Pratley, but I don’t want him to be starting week in, week out. He’s given away 2 goals already this season (Donny, and the pen at Lincoln). We need a Cullen type player back in there
There's another Danny Rowe, currently at Oldham, who was prolific at non-league level. He scored 50 goals for AFC Fylde in the 2016/17 season in the National League North and over 30 goals in each of the next two seasons in the National League. Transferred to Oldham in January this year and scored 3 goals in 10 games for them before lockdown ended the season. His goal scoring ability while at Fylde is legendary and it's a mystery to me why no league side snapped him up before Oldham.

I guess we'll see. I do think that you get far fewer strikers in the lower leagues who can effectively play that lone striker role, and few wingers able to ensure that there's sufficient support in attack and covering in transitions. We do have statistically the best player to supply that forward in Maddison, so that's a forward step. We will just need to see who Bowyer and Gallen can unearth. Bonne wasn't right for that role, and I don't think it would have really suited Taylor either. Magennis wasn't quite right for Robinson's attempt at the lone striker either, so it'll be tough to find the right guy, but it we do it'll help us make the most of the talent we have in the rest of the squad, allowing Doughty and Maddison to play where they're comfortable and making use of Washington's strength and pace in wide areas. I'd say if you needed someone to do the nearly impossible, Bowyer and Gallen are the best people to turn to

We could then sing:
There's not just one Danny Rowe
Obviously he was one who went down the pecking order after the takeover.
I’d be very happy if we got him.
