Alfie is an interesting test case for Sandgaard.
does he keep ALFIE THE SPANNER and risk losing him for just a development fee next summer.
He might persuade Alfie to sign a new deal or even sell him in January but that is a big maybe.
love it, nearly choked on my cup of tea.

Who calls their kids Timmy and Tammy?  Bordering on Neville Neville territory.

There are actually five brothers - Tammy, Temmy. Timmy. Tommy and Tummy but the last named is unlikely to make it due to weight issues (I never get fed up telling that one!)

Other footballers with names to envy/live up to are  Marvelous Nakamba (Zimbabwe), Hulk (Brazil), Gabriel Jesus (Brazil), Norman Conquest (Australia), Modest M'Bami (Cameroon), Surprise Morini (South Africa), Prince Boateng (Germany), Johannes Vennegoor of Hesselink (Holland) and last but not least Wayne Wanklyn (from plain old Hull)
    Not to mention Nortei Nortey.

"Eagles manager Bowyer." EAGLES. MANAGER. BOWYER!?!?
How can Bowyer say he’s a winner? What’s he won?
He won a trip to play in the best part of South London :)

Woodburn, Abraham, would be decent signings at this level.

I’ve seen Gestede mentioned a couple places. Not sure if we could afford his wages?

Gallen: lee wants 2, potentially 3 more.

Is potentially 3, meaning if Alfie goes?  Personally hope it doesn’t.

I’m sure someone said in here we tried to sign him (ahead of Bogle presumably) but wages were the problem.

Striker and a winger and the third could be depending on anything happening with Phillips?

Outs probably Davison and someone like Morgan/Vennings?

Depending on who we bring in, it really wouldn't surprise me if Lapslie went to free up wages.  Although I doubt he is on much, but he does count towards the cap.
  • Has Alan Nixon got anything right yet?
His name just about right ;)

I won't accept that until I've seen his birth certificate and passport

I kid you not, my brother in law’s three girls from his first marriage are called Tina, Gina and Dina. He’s from South Carolina.

Were Tina, Gina and Dina, conceived in the back of a mk3 Cortina ?

Haven't seen Vennings this season but always looked lightweight but skilful in the Championship where it looked cruel playing him in men's football.

Scott Parker career took off at Norwich on loan. Vennings needs to go to a National League club where he plays every week.
Sounds like a dedicated young pro footballer so I hope it helps his development.

Morgan is crying out for a loan, genuinely believe he’d come back the real deal with the right move where he can plan 40 plus games without the pressure of Charlton.

He needs a move above National League in my opinion, which could mean only able to recall in January...

Unless we loan him to NL til January then get in a player in January to support the squad and try to loan Albie to L2. He needs to be playing CAM for me.

I think L2 personally, I’d say NL if he was 17/18 but he’s 20 now.  Colchester/Orient/Crawley/Southend.  Sounds arrogant admittedly but he’s surely good enough to start for those sides.

Hopefully we will now do the decent thing and loan players for free in recognition of what other clubs have done for us.
Morgan, Lapslie, Davison have championship experience and league 2 is the level we should be looking for.

League 2 loan for Albie Morgan, would be best, but not much difference now with the top half of National League and the bottom half of League 2.

    Ideally, yes. But .......

    1) The wretched wage cap if they're considered a senior player 21 and over. Loaning players for 'free' does not reduce our wage cap expenditure.

    2) Any player loaned to a L2 side cannot be recalled until the next transfer window, if needed here.
Which is why Morgan, etc last season went beneath them to NL ..... where they can be recalled early.

Agreed on Lapslie, there's no point loaning him out for free because then we can't spend his wages. Morgan, Vennings, Davison though, I'd like to see us picking up the wages.
