Cawley update on Sorba Thomas is interesting. Borehamwood are proving tricky to deal with and it’s not looking likely to go through. That could change obviously but it doesn’t sound close.
"Boreham Wood are proving tricky to deal with ......"
No non-League club stands in the way of a young player who gets the opportunity to make a career at a decent League level. It's just a question of being, in their eyes, properly compensated ......... £££££££££££££££
If we meet their valuation, they let him go.
Unless we are being cheeky ourselves by offering a bid that is still lower than what they'd want in normal circumstances
Yet we're trying to exploit their current issues what with being out of pocket due to COVID
I don't know about us trying to exploit their current issues - but we'll have a valuation of what we think the player is worth. It's bound to be lower than theirs.
It's a market place and no doubt they'll be haggling; in time honoured fashion they'll possibly accept a price half way between their valuation and ours. Or another club is scenting the player is available and willing to meet their asking price.
I feel a house buying analogy coming on ...........
You can hardly blame Borehamwood for wanting to get a high a fee as possible
If West Ham bid £200k for Doughty, we would hardly say "he's worth more but we can't deny him a dream move to the PL so we'll take the offer"
Agreed, Boreham Wood being difficult could mean anything. Like all signings, we should pay upto what we think he's worth. He's a non league player and this would be a good opportunity for him, but he plays for Boreham Wood and so they are entitled to a decent enough fee.
Nope suffered with a plantar fascia injury myself. Also have a history in the fitness industry when I was younger and am currently studying for PT exam.

Playing games with the Window close to closing so are hoping that we'll get desperate perhaps?
Should imagine they will be more desperate than us tbh. We have new money that will cover us during the pandemic. wonder what their situation is like

They have a good relationship with Arsenal, Arsenal ladies share their ground and Arsenal paid for a lot of the upgrade work

Happy for them to get a decent fee. It’s how clubs survive, us included, despite Roland letting players go for nothing.
Is the Plantar fascia anywhere near the metatarsals ? Rooney and Beckham made that quite fashionable 10 years ago.
Origin of the plantar fascia is the calcaneus and the insertion is the inferior metatarsal head.
Yep, I thought that's what you said.
Found a nice image to show what I mean.
The two bones at the end of the foot are the big toe phalanges. So the plantar fascia inserts to the underneath of the top of the first metatarsal but it’s origin is the calcaneus, the correct name for what people refer to the heel bone.

That could explain our offer offer getting leaked. Sorba will not be happy if nothing happens.
And we're happy to have Cawley dropping none too subtle hints that it's his current club to blame. Cranks the pressure up a notch. You could maybe call it a bit hypocritical after denouncing the Scottish mob's making subtle and cunning eyes at Doughty but really in both cases it's sadly the way of the game these days.
Was going to say the same thing. Are Boreham Wood being difficult or just standing firm on what they think he is worth (like us with Doughty and Phillips)
Why do you say that? His Wiki suggests he is a not quite proven championship player. Charlton would be a chance to cement first team English football and under the tutelage of LB ... and at an ambitious club.
Actually no, it’s predominantly sports science as a whole, and I done psychology at masters, but really should’ve done sports physiotherapy or something similar instead as I’ve found I enjoy it more!

Couldn’t agree more. From the Premiership down clubs need to pay a decent fee so the money flows down and keeps clubs going.
Clubs like Celtic and Rangers nicking young players without paying the right compensation is a disgrace.

He's been playing regularly for Brentford this season, seems unlikely they'd want to sell him or loan him out.

My Dad is a Brentford fan so I follow them quite closely and watch the majority of their matches. He played regularly for them last season, including the play off final, and has played every league game for them so far this season.
Brentford have offered Emiliano Marcondes a new contract, says the offensive player's agent.
Emiliano Marcondes has a contract expiration with Brentford next summer, but the Championship club would like to keep the Danish offensive player.
Marcondes has thus received an offer of an extension, his agent tells B.T.
- We have received a contract offer, which we are currently chewing on. There are ongoing negotiations, but nothing has been signed and there are many inquiries about Emiliano, says Antoni Alexandrakis to B.T.
25-year-old Marcondes has played 65 games for Brentford, scoring five goals and 10 assists.
it would tally with us moving on Erhun and George meaning a bit more space in midfield but he’s a bloody excellent player and I’d be immensely surprised if he joined us.excellent free kick taker and can finish too
Highly unlikely but would be a massive signal of intent

I enjoy all rumours but this one isn't happening
If you have a white-board in that house, chuck it out. Those points would've saved us as well.

I didn't speak to him for a few days after they bottled it and relegated us. It still gets mentioned sometimes.

There's surely no way they're going to stop the kid leaving for a league club, and if they do he's almost certainly not going to be happy.
Bowyer at training tomorrow: "Albie ...... BTW you're going on loan to Boreham Wood. Great set up. And you're guaranteed to start. Off you go, sonny".
"And don't forget to track back!"

Pretty obvious once you put 2 and 2 together
