I know it’s been mentioned already, but Sunderland is possibly the only game we have in the next 3 weeks. I would far rather Bowyer, Gallen and Sandgaard took their time to get the best signings possible in the next two weeks, than rushed some through that will need replacing again in the next 12 months. I would truly love us to get a right back in before the weekend but other than that I want them to get the right people and if that takes a bit longer than I’m fine with that.
Remember poor old Steve Gallen, trying to get new signings last summer after our promotion, telling us how exhausting it was trying to rebuild the side each year.
Thanks to Roland's tiny budget and short term contracts. And this year he's had the embargo until last weekend. Each summer he's had to rebuild substantially. Now he's got 2 mental weeks under a wages cap to get everything done.
Spare a thought for Steve.
If you don't want to rebuild each year sign people on 3 or 4 year contracts. We dis it with Bauer, Sarr, and Vetokele.
Yes, good idea. I'm sure Steve Gallen would agree with you. Except, as he said last year, it doesn't always work out that way.

Yeah I think that's a disservice to Bowyer and Gallen. They weren't here for any of those enforced signings.

And the likes of Zakarya Bergdich (4 years) and El Hadji Ba (3 years)
That's the downside of longer contracts if you sign the wrong players...
Beat me to it. Could be a good signing. I wonder why you would turn down a premier league deal to play in League One though. LB, JJ and TS must have some pulling power!

Perhaps one of those very rare occasions where he'd rather earn less but play regularly.

Guess there is some morality amongst certain players and he wants game time over money.
I think two years with a third year option is the way to go in this league - if you can get the player to agree.
Committing three years to a player like Ajose turned out to be a big mistake. Only having Lyle tied down for two wasn’t a mistake per se but not ideal either.
LB has explained that there is a complicated set of possible moves within the restrictions of the cap, which obviously include the age of the player, their salary demands, the squad limits and whether or not it's a loan or a permanent move. All the pieces need to fit together to end up with the optimum squad. A player sale might be needed too, not for the transfer fee, but to free up a spot that is needed in a different position. Plus there's the dilemma of players who have been allowed to run down their contracts.
I trust the combination of LB and Steve Gallen to do the best they possibly can in the circumstances and thank goodness we are now backed by TS so if funding is required that is not an issue. So I'm trying to be patient (which is not always easy!)
This absolute joke of a salary cap, which I also think is a restraint of trade, makes me wish ill on the club's that voted for it rather than have sympathy for the difficulties faced in current times.
Koiki would be a great signing. Burnley fans were upset that he didn’t get more first team opportunities during lockdown when their mid table finish was already secured - Dyche has never been that type of manager though
Charlton are closing in on the signing of former Burnley defender Ali Koiki on free transfer beating League One rivals Sunderland to his signature. #cafc #safc #BurnleyFC

The Ronnie Schwartz potential transfer surprises me, he joins FC Midtiylland in the Danish Superliga in January 2020 on a 2.5 year contract, plays 15 games and now seems to be moving again! Can't get my head around that situation plus add the 15 games likely in a short space of time because of COVID. The lure of the EFL !!

I think he simply wants to have a shot at playing in England and this is possibly his last chance given his age

Would have Vetokele back at this level btw.

As he's from south London, you can imagine that the location would favour us as well.

That makes him 21 so don't think so? or is it 21 and under? I've lost track of it all.
But he would've been 20 on January 1st, which I think was the cut-off for being "under 21".
