  • Phillips: 6 - probably his quietest game of the season
Matthews: 7 - pretty good. A pity he didn't shoot when he worked his way into the box in the second half
Lockyer: 6 - a quiet day, as Reading really didn't bother attacking at all in the second half
    Pearce: 6 - ditto
Oshilaja: 5 - Lee Bowyer explained the thinking behind Oshi'd surprise selection at Hull by reference to the fact that Hull's right winger liked to consistently cut in. I think it's time to end the experiment
McGeady: 7 - faded but showed some real quality in the first half
Cullen: 6.5 - tidy enough but not at his most dominant
Pratley: 6 - a shade below par but inches away from getting on the end of Doughty's cross
Morgan: 7 - the best passer at the club
Bonne: 4 - lacking in confidence and a really poor miss
Aneke: 5 - unlucky with the disallowed goal but, for me, he is too slow, muscle-bound and clumsy. Gave away countless free kicks, which broke up the rhythm of a game we were chasing from the second minute.
Doughty: 7.5 - our most dangerous player. I would like to see him start further forward on Wednesday and have a real go at the Brummies
Williams: 6 - unable to replicate his impact against Brentford
Referee: 4 - poor, although the blame for the disallowed goal must rest on the linesman

Gutless performance, poor team selection from Bows. On that performance we deserve relegation, Reading were on the beach the whole match...
