    Maybe pained at the nature of the loss but maybe felt that shoulder injury.
    Kirishima looks back to his best, as does Abi.

    I think Onosato will retire from the Bashou and have his shoulder looked at.

    Congrats to Aonishiki. 
    Would have loved for Atamifuji to do it, and he so nearly did. Bit of a Plan C move the head lock throw by Aonishiki at the edge but fair play. He is a force and nailed on for Yokozuna, especially with both current Yokozuna impacted by injuries.
    Fair play to them too for seeing out the Basho and giving it everything despite those problems.

    Just caught up, felt sorry for Atamifuji but he'll get there... Big lad. Aonishiki is a different level. Want to give a shout out to Yoshinofuji who is thundering up the ranks... Beat two yokozuna but was completely under my radar

    No spoilers but this Osaka Basho is full of upsets after only 4 days.
    Brilliant stuff and wide open.

    NHK described it as "cardiac arrest" but my understanding is that they've discovered his heart rate is unusually low during training. So I think it's a concern about his heart rather than an attack, as such.
    But, sounds like it could be a serious problem career-wise sadly. We'll see.

    Glad Onosato has withdrawn. I don't like the practice of competing whilst injured. Hopefully he'll soon get back to 100%.

    What a bashou so far!

    Anyone else hoping for a Takayasu Yushou? One of the things about sumo is there isn't anyone you want to see lose like in other sports.

    He’s involved in a great bout with Wakatakakage on Day 6.

    Kirishima looks truly back to his best and he'll surely book his re-promotion to Ozeki.
    Even if Takayasu doesn't win it, I hope he clocks up 12 wins and puts himself on track to regain Ozeki status.
    But it has to be Hoshoryu's best chance yet to win his first title as Yokozuna, with both Aonishiski struggling (rumours of an injury) and Onosato sidelined.
    He looks to be relatively niggle-free for a change and can recover to win it. He'll be kicking himself if he misses the chance.
    Amazing Basho though.

    Kirishima has been very impressive all Bashou. He's looking good for the Yushou.

    Great to see Takerufuji compete in the makuuchi today and demonstrated how Tobizaru got his name!
