Have had both. Went under for the gastroscopy and endoscopy through the penis was an experience I never want to have to repeat. If the camera through the eye was not bad enough, it entering the spleen was the sharpest pain I have ever felt. I have just winced recollecting it. Very embarrassing end game to it too. They pump a lot of gel into your penis to open the shaft sufficiently to put the rod and camera up it. What they do not do is tell you to avoid going shopping afterwards. I was in cream chinos, just picked up a punnet of strawberries in M&S and whoosh, the whole fcuking lot shot its load across the front of my pants/through to my cream trousers. And to be clear, I am no fruitophile...
