  • Impressive interview, I hope Leicester achieve something this season
  • Sam Allardyce really hasnt learnt to keep his mouth shut has he!!

Seems he's admitted that Robert Snodgrass wont be playing against tonight because of a Gentleman's Agreement between West Brom and West Ham when he moved clubs. He's said that West Ham wouldnt do the deal without that being the case and happens all the time with loan agreements

Still though the Premier League are going to look into it

Why... Why not just keep quiet and pretend he's got a slight knock in training!!

Bit harsh by the FA on West Ham and West Brom making them play last night and tonight 😉😉
  • The Premier League has formally agreed to trial the use of permanent concussion substitutes.

Clubs approved the trial during a shareholders meeting on Wednesday, although there is no start date yet.

The trial will begin when the "implementation of the reporting processes" has been resolved.

The new rule means up to two permanent substitutions can be made in the event of head injuries, even if all replacements have already been used.

To avoid potential abuse of the rule, opposition teams will also be able to make a change at the same time.

  • West Brom v Fulham on the BBC... CORRR!!

Its like SKY and BT have had an argument over who gets to avoid showing it... Amazon have come along and gone... Eh Eh Eh, calm down, calm down - Just give it to that lot over at t'BBC
  • I like how Amazon are included in continue to show, but then don't actually have a single game. They have had two games in January, but that's only because they were postponed from December.
  • Really surprised the authorities would allow a free to air game to be shown at 3pm on a Saturday

Surely that could impact on streaming sales for all the EFL games being played at that time?

In normal times you would be correct.
But with no crowds allowed different rules apply

  • Man City score

Villa players adamant Rodri was offside in the build up

Dean Smith booked then immediately sent off for something he said to the ref.

Peter Walton then said on BT Sport he thinks the goal should have been ruled out for offside
  • edited January 2021
Thats a terrible decision!!... Doesnt matter that Mings takes a touch - Rodri is coming back from an offside position, thats given all the time!!

Seen comments saying Mings should clear it and shouldnt be dithering on the ball but it doesnt matter... He had all the time in the world because Rodri shouldn't be an issue
  • Had to be offside, although you never know with these rules. I thought Rodri was offside (as per rules) when header came forward
  • Strikers should start doing that more often if its going be classed as onside
  • The Premier League have clarified that the correcr decision was made because Mings deliberately touched the ball it made Rodri onside
  • The Premier League have clarified that the correcr decision was made because Mings deliberately touched the ball it made Rodri onside
    Which is f+*king ridiculous.
So if a defender stretches to intercept a through ball to an offside player and gets the slightest touch, then the ball goes through to that player, because the defender has deliberately touched the ball the forward is onside?

  • The Premier League have clarified that the correcr decision was made because Mings deliberately touched the ball it made Rodri onside
    Pathetic.

He clearly gained an advantage from being in an offside position.
  • There is no way on this planet that goal should have been allowed to stand.

Outrageous it never went to VAR.

    It did go to VAR

All goals are checked by VAR.

But as the Premier League said afterwards the rules state the goal was legal because Mings deliberately played the ball

Since when has a player been able to run from an offside position and get involved like that?!

He has gained a massive advantage.  That is offside as soon as that ball in lumped forward.  I dont think I've ever seen that happen before.  Blimey.

  • If that rule is enforced then I can see periods of games where teams chasing a game will consider condensing the play and play a striker 5 yards behind the opposition defence continuously offside hoping a defensive deflection puts them through on goal.
  • Some kid called Lookman has scored against Man Utd
  • edited January 2021
Lookman gives Fulham the lead over United.

No crowds but EFL and NL clubs are all getting income from selling streams, which will be directly impacted
  • Poor from the Goalkeeper to spill that cross

Surely no fans are gonna stop buying a stream of their own team to watch West Brom v Fulham instead

Maybe I’m just getting old but I’m sure I remember in the Prem against arsenal van Persie being offside but fortune intercepted the ball, dawdled on it and was dispossessed by van persie who played someone else in and scored. The goal was given as it was deemed a “new phase of play”

im really hoping this actually happened as I’m starting to doubt myself now!
  • Poor from the Goalkeeper to spill that cross
Same old same old.  Plays the game of his life against Spurs then reverts to type quickly afterwards.  Sigh.

In fairness I think he’s very good. Only second mistake I’ve seen him make and plenty of good saves
