Good or bad guys (in film)

We're all frustrated with the current situation and unknown future, so thought something non-football might help us all relax a bit.

In which film did you like the bad guy more than the good guy?

Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and EndGame

Loved the way they portrayed him in the first of those two... Felt almost in agreement with his "actions" coming out of the cinema

A year later (using a different Thanos) they turned him right into the bad guy and completely switched my mindset of him from one that agreed with him, to that of someone who was just a evil bastard!!

Know it was only really Josh Brolin's voice but they got the casting spot on with the deep voice that he's got
  • Another shout for Robert Carlyle as Begbie in Trainspotting
  • Alan Rickman (Sheriff of Nottingham) - Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
Rickman was great in both Die Hard and Robin Hood

Lost a great actor when he departed!!
  • Great to see Alan Rickman already named twice @stonemuse @DaveMehmet
  • Alan Rickman (Sheriff of Nottingham) - Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
Rickman was great in both Die Hard and Robin Hood

Lost a great actor when he departed!!
Which strangely made me think of Jack Nicholson in The Departed

Jonny Lawrence in The Karate Kid

Daniel is the real bully and Jonny is the true karate kid
  • Alan Rickman (Sheriff of Nottingham) - Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
Rickman was great in both Die Hard and Robin Hood

Lost a great actor when he departed!!
    And he was Professor Snape
  • Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor in the original Superman

Jesse Eisenberg didnt do a bad job in the recent reboote but Hackman is Lex Luthor for me
  • An open goal I know but Phoenix managed that in Joker.
  • An open goal I know but Phoenix managed that in Joker.
The best Joker yet, with another late; Heath Ledger not far behind him

Beat you to it ... see above  :)
  • Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecktor in Manhunter.
  • Wilfred Bramble in Duchatelet the yellow toothed dancer. Or did I dream that one?
  • The cast of the Italian job, although I felt a bit sorry for John Le Mesurier as the governer being ticked off by Noel Coward about the standards in the prison.
  • Surprised it hasn't been mentioned but for me its always Clyde Shelton- Gerard Butlers character in Law Abiding Citizen.

Yes he us supposed to be the bad guy killing people, but whenever I first watched it I rooting for him the whole way through.

  • For some reason I keep thinking of actors no longer around

Bruno Ganz as Hitler in Downfall... Cant have been an easy role to play but just outstanding
  • Denzel Washington in Training Day
  • Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor in the original Superman

Jesse Eisenberg didnt do a bad job in the recent reboote but Hackman is Lex Luthor for me
Michael Rosenbaum’s Luthor was brilliant. Hackman refused to shave his hair, I’m not having that.
  • Billy Bright - Football Factory
  • Billy Bright - Football Factory

There are a lot of memorable bad guys here, but ones I’d say I liked more than the good guy... TDK’s Joker maybe. Training Day?! Mad! Denzel was a grade-A wanker in that!

The Nightmare on Elm Street movies are way better when you root for Freddy! And they all have tragic endings.

  • Jack Nicholson - As good as it gets
